Magazines either get it terribly wrong or oh so right. Vogue Korea have cemented themselves as innovators of creativity but our forum members are left divided over the magazine’s recent issue. The title released its June 2015 edition which was quickly brought over to our forms for discussion. Aymeline Valade stars on the cover, shot wearing that striking Christian Dior top while standing among a blooming spring garden by photographer Cass Bird.
“Wow, nothing on this cover is working for me. Aymeline looks so awkward here and the styling doesn’t help and the background is too busy,” justaguy discredited.
“This is not working..” added GlamorousBoy.
Wolkfolk wasn’t feeling it either. “Aymeline I love you but please dye your hair back to black! The disco top is distracting from the peaceful and natural background. A white top would’ve made a much nicer composition,” he suggested.
In agreement was simon: “Too much distracting details on the background. Not loving the tops Aymeline is wearing.”
“The backdrop is season appropriate but the styling isn’t. Also, the backdrop is too messy. One thing I’ve noticed is that Vogue Korea no longer produces edgy covers,” MON contributed, adding fuel to the fire.
Surprisingly, not everyone was so underwhelmed. “I really like this! It’s not perfect but I love that Vogue Korea keeps delivering fresh covers!” approved Nepenthes.
Forum member burbuja8910 showed support also, writing, “Amazing cover.”
