Jaeger Teams Up with Iconic Models and Their Mums for New Campaign

Jaeger has really honed in on the mantra, “We don’t sell clothes, we dress women,” in this beautiful campaign for its autumn/winter collection, celebrating inherited style by featuring three top models and their mothers.

Also celebrating its 130th birthday this year, the English brand chose Jasmine Guinness, Jodie Kidd and Jacquetta Wheeler to front the campaign in which the models and their mothers are all shot wearing the latest collection, proving that the classic designs can be passed between the generations seamlessly and that it isn’t just you who steals clothes from your mother. If anything, Jaeger encourages that type of behavior.

In the beautiful video clips, the women discuss all manner of things British with Jodie and her mother Wendy, who also modelled, talking about the insouciant quality of British style and its ability to be “always unique,” whilst also proclaiming their mutual style icon to be Audrey Hepburn.

There is a lovely mix of opinion as the women all give their insight into what they believe is the secret to style in Britain. Jasmine says that it has to be “spots, stripes and gingham,” whilst her mother Liz Casey goes for the opposite and describes it as “rock ‘n’ roll.”

Jaeger CEO, Colin Henry, said that these women were chosen particularly for being inspirational, he discussed how “each duo shares an inherited sense of refined style and a love of timeless, quality pieces; truly personifying the spirit of Jaeger through the decades.”

An 80s-Styled Anja Rubik is Porter’s Fall 2014 Cover Girl (Forum Buzz)

Following in the footsteps of Gisele Bündchen , Lady Gaga and Lara Stone , Anja Rubik is Porter‘s latest cover star. The magazine tapped the Polish beauty for its Fall 2014 cover, which was lensed by Dutch duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Shot in the great outdoors, we see Anja posing among dewy woodlands while wearing a thick lilac coat teamed with a blazer, a gray sweater and a pair of green leather trousers. The cover look was styled by Melanie Ward.

Members of our forums have mixed opinions regarding Porter‘s fourth cover. “This is such a beautiful cover, really feel like Porter keeps knocking it out of the park with their covers. Love the way Anja was styled and the fact they shot the photograph outside, it works well together,” wrote YoninahAliza, who is clearly a fan.

“Ah, I like it. I really think this magazine has got off to a great start,” commented honeycombchild.

“I like it as well, love that it’s an outdoors shot, and that the hair is something different, styling works as well. Porter is taking my money instead of Love, I hope they keep it up,” agreed Miss Dalloway.

The thread also has members who are on the fence. “I’m not really getting anything from the cover, but I’m curious to see what’s inside,” shared an optimistic blueorchid.

“I don’t like the hair but I’m really excited about this magazine and I’m sure the editorial will be better,” wrote KateTheGreatest.

GIVENCHYlover made it clear he wasn’t interested: “I don’t know…I don’t like it.”

The Fall 2014 issue of Porter is available worldwide this Friday. Check out the thread and join the discussion here.

Kate Upton’s September Cover of UK Elle ‘Bores to Death’ (Forum Buzz)

She has steadily become a force to be reckoned with in the world of modeling and now Kate Upton has scored an all-important September cover. The American beauty stars on UK Elle‘s latest installment posing on a studio floor wearing an outfit from Prada‘s Fall 2014 collection. Photographed by Matt Jones, Kate is also featured inside the magazine wearing the season’s most coveted looks from the likes of Christian Dior, Burberry and Chloe.

Unfortunately, the cover hasn’t gone over well with our forum members. “I am very disappointed… it bores me to death,” wrote GlamorousBoy.

“It really is boring. Matt Jones usually does more fun stuff, outside of the studio. Hope the editorial will be more like that,” posted an optimistic KateTheGreatest.

LastNight is left unimpressed and commented, “It’s a nice shot of Kate and she looks beautiful – it’s just not a great shot for a cover. This new design Elle has going on is awful, it looks so cheap and ruins any image they use. A few years back they were producing really lovely covers with much nicer design, now it’s all so…forgettable and dull.”

Another non-admirer was honeycombchild: “Hm. I’m not a fan, and the angle doesn’t look too flattering on her face. How [un]eventful for a September cover.”

“Bit of a dull cover for a September issue, and the angle of the picture isn’t the greatest. Shame really, I’ve liked other covers I’ve seen with Kate Upton, she’s quite pretty. Hopefully the editorial is much nicer,” said an unsatisfied YoninahAliza.

“It does look like a catalogue shot no question about it, uneventful. I’m still struggling to understand Upton’s appeal…” declared Abracadabra.

Who’s betting there’s a more compelling image of Kate inside the magazine that would have made for a better cover? Await the content and share your own opinion here.

Miami Swim Week 2015, Day 5: Shining Moments

A model walks the runway during the Indah show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

One thought might have permeated your brain as the final night of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim kicked off Monday: “My gosh, I hope the supply of shimmer powder holds out just one more evening.” Seriously, some of these girls have been walking the runway so slicked, gold-flecked and bronzed, the flash of multiple cameras could result in them looking like the glow-in-the-dark aliens from The Abyss.

A model strikes a pose at the Aquarella Swimwear fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

A model strikes a pose at the Sauvage fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

But nobody should panic; perhaps Vincent Longo (official makeup sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz shows at The Raleigh) had more of its Golden Goddess Deluxe Body Powder air-dropped in, so the models glistened as all swim models in Miami should, and the final night offered up plenty of scintillating options. The key trends that emerged for 2015 (neon, metallics, crochet and lace, rashguards) were much in evidence here, starting with the group show that kicked off the night. Five designers — Mia Marcelle, Sauvage, Aquarella, Toxic Sadie and Aguaclara — pooled their resources to produce a successful (albeit long, at more than 60 looks) show. Among the highlights: Sauvage is always an ultra-sexy line, but designer Elizabeth Southwood still managed to top herself with a fantastic metal-plate bikini top that ranked high on our favorites for the week’s metallics trend, while another trend (neon) was key to Javier Madrigal’s Aquarella collection, as he worked DayGlo tones in colorblocked bikinis and monokinis.

And at Toxic Sadie, designer Erin Thomas proved that high-waisted bottoms can also reveal plenty of skin, as she crafted a look that employed straps where fabric should be, bringing a whole new dynamic to a silhouette that continues to dominate swim conversations.

A.Z Araujo poses with some of his models at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

Alas, the group presentation turned out to be the best of the night, if only because it wasn’t filled with “Wait, what?” kind of moments. If only the same could be said for the two shows that followed, A.Z Araujo and Minimale Animale (I really wanted to like the latter, largely because we all just loved saying the name). First, with respect to the Brazilian-born, New York-based Araujo: It’s not that I don’t appreciate the idea of putting real women on the runway; I embrace that, actually, after looking at what seems like MILES of perfectly-toned model flesh over the course of five days. So please, put all the “regular-sized” and plus-sized women on the runway that you want, I applaud that. What rankles me is when I’m watching pieces that are either poorly done or just have no place on a runway: I can view khaki shorts or white pants on a shirtless guy in a multitude of locales (especially in South Beach), so they’re not of any use on a swim runway, while the same can be said for some leopard pieces that just seemed, shall we say, Kardashian-level cheap. If I sound disappointed, it’s because there were pieces here I really liked, namely some panné-velvet paisley looks, such as a bikini with a high-neck top tied with a bow that looked positively YSL-esque paired with a side-tied bottom, all of which proved some real thought lived in this collection. More in this direction, Mr. Araujo, and we could be really excited.

And then, sigh, Minimale Animale: Girls in moto helmets either topless or in totally sheer triangle tops; that’s my memory of this show from Los Angeles-based designer Cassandra Kellogg. Those photos will play well in Europe, but what I got from it was a plethora of black and white suits, but mainly bottoms, and definitely S&M-driven. I would add “minimalist” as an adjective for the show’s sleek styling, but all those straps on the monokinis firmly sent us into dominatrix territory. Sure, it was titillating (pun intended), but all the love in the world from Sports Illustrated (who has indeed featured suits/bottoms from this label) won’t transfer to major sales.

The night, and the week, closed on a sublime note, however, with some fantastic looks from the Bali-produced Indah line. This Indonesian collection was undeniably sexy, even as it offered a wealth of chic cover-ups featuring maxi dresses in leopard, camel crochet knit or a chic white with cut-outs at the sides. An ultra-bare bikini mixed a teal velvet triangle top with a tiger print bottom, while long fringe descended from a bronze triangle top, dripping onto a tribal-print maxi skirt. Here was a show that combined design and sensuality; it didn’t hit you over the head any less than the previous two shows, but as the week wrapped up, it was a terrific tutorial on how to dress the body well in as few inches of fabric as one might conceive.

Our forums knew what to expect after a video teaser of the upcoming edition was posted inside the Cover Rumor Thread. Naturally, the majority of our forum members are delighted with the supermodel reunion. “Vogue September issues kickoff! This looks sensational. It’s simple but for me, has maximum impact. I’ve noticed they’ve grouped the models into the decades, i.e. 80s, 90s and 00s, [for which] they were most well known,” wrote AL92.

“I knew it would be epic! And I am so happy it’s a fold-out cover! Can’t wait to get this issue soon!” enthused Starry.

Nepenthes was also very excited and posted, “This is almost too iconic! Everyone looks so pristine and flawless. Great job, Vogue Japan, there is nothing about this cover that I don’t love. Can’t wait for the eds!”

“Damn, I can’t stop looking at this. The most perfect group shot. I love the middle section the most, with Guinevere, Eva, Carolyn, etc., but the rest is perfect as well. This set the bar very high for other September issues,” commented anlabe32.

“This is a must-buy issue!” added LRlovesDaria.

Miami Swim Week 2015, Day 4: Rimes and Reasoning

Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes watching the Luli Fama show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

LeAnn Rimes? That’s kind of random.” Such was the sentiment shared by the press upon spotting the country star and husband Eddie Cibrian in the front row of Luli Fama’s presentation Sunday evening at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. Among the ways these shows at The Raleigh differ from New York and Lincoln Center is that you rarely see actors and actresses in the front rows, but rather models or, as one attendee put at an earlier event, “I’m pretty sure I spotted a Real Housewife back at the Setai.” And that’s when I remembered that this duo debuted their reality show, LeAnn & Eddie, on VH1 last week. OK, maybe not so random.

LeAnn wore an ivory lace off-the-shoulder top and matching skirt by Miami-based Lourdes “Luli” Hanimian, who sent out one of the briefest collections of the week — brief not in size of show, but in size of swimwear. There were barely-there bikinis that featured multi-strap bottoms and crochet-accented triangle tops — ultra-sexy suits sure to send you running to sign up for a series of spin classes.

At the other end of the spectrum, there’s Gottex, which kicked off the Sunday night shows with both its signature collection and its Profile by Gottex line, set against the backdrop of The Raleigh pool. Designed by Michal Weinberg, Profile seems positioned as the younger sister of the iconic Gottex, filled with youthful basics and trend pieces, from rashguards to rompers as cover-ups and a strapless maillot that evoked a retro-40s feel.

A model walks the runway, pareo in hand at the Gottex presentation during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

A model takes a lap around the pool, pareo in hand at the Gottex presentation during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

But it was the signature collection by designer Keren Gasner in which Gottex truly shined, particularly in her mixed-print suits, a zebra stripe with a psychedelic wave on a monokini twisted throughout the midriff, for example, or a strapless maillot in a mix of chocolate and turquoise boho-inspired prints, embellished with shell embroidery. And then there were the label’s signature pareos, wafting through the air as the models sailed by the pool. Of course, you won’t walk down the beach with your pareo flying flag-like behind you (at least we hope not), but they made for great photos.

A more static presentation followed over at the Setai, where La Perla presented its Summer 2015 offerings. Models took turns standing on four platforms as the crowd enjoyed a beachside cocktail party around them. The best of the collection was the first group, a neutral-toned palette of taupe, chocolate, black and ivory, in one and two-piece looks that worked woven and nude-illusion details into the designs.

Back at The Raleigh, Belusso designer Kirsten Ehrig-Sarkisian rolled out her mix of sleek suits with cover-ups that evoked a boho-chic vibe; it’s always great to see a new take in swim, and here that was reflected in a group of looks — a racerback maillot, a strapless bikini and a cropped rashguard shown with a Brazilian bottom — each beaded to create a stingray effect.

The finale at the Suboo show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

The finale at the Suboo show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015; Image: Getty

Last year, Suboo was roundly agreed to be among the week’s favorites, and that’s likewise true of the Australian label’s 2015 offerings. We’ve seen a lot of athletic and scuba influences over the course of this Miami Swim Week, but none quite as sexy/powerful as this Sunday-night collection, designed by Sue Di Chio. High-waisted bottoms were cut above the hipbone, while the rashguard — a now-ubiquitous piece at these shows — was slashed at the shoulder to show a little more skin. A few pieces in black pleather seemed just this side of dominatrix-chic, while Di Chio’s whisper-thin bomber jackets (one in a beautiful watercolor print, trimmed in black) offered a nice cover-up alternative to the wealth of caftans, rompers and harem pants typically sent down a runway. It was a great example of the continued ready-to-wear impact in swim, that what you wear emerging from the surf can likewise reflect your everyday style.

Vogue Mexico Gives Monika Jagaciak Her First Solo Vogue Cover (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Mexico’s August cover surfaced on our forums earlier today and Monika Jagaciak has scored the cover — making it her first-ever solo Vogue cover (for Monika’s first Vogue cover, she was joined by Liu Wen on the cover of Vogue China’s July 2012 issue). The model, who is currently advertising Chanel‘s L’Instant Watches as well as appearing in cosmetics spots for the French fashion house, is seen posing against a vivid blue background, wearing a white shirt and a denim tie-dye skirt from Anthony Vaccarello.

Many members of our forums are unsatisfied with the cover, however. “I don’t feel like this captures just how beautiful Jac is but still I’m happy for her!” commented Nepenthes.

“I’m so happy to see her on the cover, she’s so beautiful,” added GlamVal. “Vogue Mexico has the virtue of making a model so awful, the hair looks so fake.”

A.D.C. is in the same frame of mind and suggested the cover isn’t exactly Vogue-worthy: “Looks like a Cosmo cover but it’s cute if not very high fashion.”

KateTheGreatest agreed and posted, “Just yesterday I was thinking she needs a Vogue cover. She does look beautiful but I agree that the cover is more Cosmo than Vogue. I do like the styling but again, it’s not very Vogue.”

“In contrast to a couple of people here I really love this cover. It’s very summertime. She looks beautiful. And this cover looks like a VOGUE cover. It’s a hundred times better than last Vogue covers with Isabeli and Anna. One thing that I don’t like is the skirt and too much fonts. Everything without this is really beautiful and I’m so happy that JAC got her first solo Vogue cover!” disagreed a very content DiorPureLove.

We certainly have mixed reactions from our forum members. What do you think? Are you a fan? Check out the thread and share your own opinion here.

Miami Swim Week, Day 3: Prints Charming

Rashguard at Mara Hoffman Swim 2015

“Miami’s the best; it’s really the smartest of the fashion weeks, when you think about it,” said Mara Hoffman backstage prior to her show. The designer, who roundly agreed to be everyone’s favorite during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, had a wholly pragmatic reason for her love of showing in South Beach. “When you show in New York, typically you’ve already shown to the buyers a few weeks prior to that; here in Miami, you could see them on the same day. It makes so much sense from a business point of view.”

An hour later, Hoffman was rolling out her 2015 Swim collection, filled with her signature graphics, but mixed into a neon palette that set the runway ablaze (this is always a hot show, among the reasons Tori Praver and Kelly Slater were in the front row). The graphics were woven through a tropical thread, the result of Hoffman’s recent trip to Guatemala. These were bright, happy pieces, a combination of her love of injecting poolside chic — the great maxi dress, a pair of harem pants with a triangle bikini top — with looks that felt wholly modern, especially her cropped rashguard with a bikini bottom. In bright neon graphics, it felt very Mara Hoffman, which is to say modern, chic and with an eye toward forward-thinking design.

Earlier in the day, Tory Burch’s team hosted a presentation of her Resort 2015 collection in the Soho Beach House penthouse, and the combination of that posh space’s blue-tiled floors against the backdrop of Miami’s azure waters created a perfect framework for Burch’s pieces. For Resort, she was inspired by the artist Milton Avery, and you could indeed see the reference in both her color palette (largely blues and sea green against white) and a leaning toward American-craft prints. Craft also found its way into the bags of braided leather, the flower-bedecked straw totes and the espadrilles, though you had to appreciate the rashguards — a piece that’s everywhere this swim week — which under the deft hand of Burch were adorned with a simple and yet wholly feminine (and very Tory) ruffle.

As of day three of swim week, we’re able to pinpoint some clear trends: The as-mentioned, seen-everywhere rashguards, as well as touches of lace, graphic-meets-tribal prints, and metallic or chain accents. The latter was true of New York-based Caitlin Kelly, who debuted her Summer 2015 collection in The Raleigh Hotel penthouse. Yellow-gold chains dripped off of bikinis and cover-ups, but especially good were the sleek halter monokinis, gathered at the midriff with a gold medallion, which one show-goer deemed “Versace-esque.”

Later in the evening, Monica Wise presented a solid showing of her L*Space collection — it wasn’t the most design-driven event of the night, and honestly, the swim shows, more than any other fashion week, are the moment when you clearly see presentations that tend to be more catalog-driven, i.e. offered up for the buyers and not the press. Wise’s plethora of solid-toned pieces, mixed with some colorblocking and a smattering of graphic prints, was most definitely an example of this. It was a great collection, but a decidedly commercial one. “Commercial” can be a negative word in the fashion industry — in the swim business it tends to be more forgiven. Wise is a talented designer, so it would be great to see her stretch her creative wings a bit more, if only for the runway.

20 Truly Modern Takes on the Classic Tank Top

When you think “tank top,” do you immediately envision a white, ribbed, fitted number with an unfortunate alter ego? Think again! Sleeveless doesn’t have to mean expected. When strap styles waiver between thick/structured and thin/complicated, tanks take on a whole new life. Buying something so summery midway through the season could feel like a waste — but remember, you can top these with a cardigan or jacket in fall and winter for extended wear (and endless sartorial options). Here are 20 of our favorite tanks on the market now, in all price ranges.

Miami Swim Week 2015, Day 1: Wrap Party

Just yards from the iconic pool at The Raleigh, there they stood with their sleek, sexy curves decked out in hothouse florals, Art Deco stripes or vivid graphics. If you’re envisioning bikini-clad models, think again. This particular “runway” was teeming with 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-classes, one each to represent the 10 years Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim has rolled out under the tents at The Raleigh hotel, with each wrapped in a custom print by a designer who’s been integral to the event over the past decade.

“I was thrilled to be asked,” said Red Carter amid a flurry of interviews while standing next to his C-class, which was wrapped in a bold black-and-white graphic from one of his early collections. Carter had kicked off his career as a swim designer in Miami in 2003, just a year before the launch of The Raleigh shows, so his choice of an inspirational print was an easy one. “Art Deco prints played a big role in my early designs, because I was so inspired by all the beauty of South Beach, and I still am, actually,” he explained. “I wanted to honor that as we celebrate 10 great years of swim shows.”

The shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim kick off tonight at 5:00 p.m. with Brazil-based Poko Pano, by designer Paola Robba, and run through Monday evening. Designers range from Mara Hoffman and L*Space by Monica Wise to Gottex, New York-based Caitlin Kelly and Los Angeles-based Clover Canyon. Also among the most-anticipated shows: Los Angeles-based Beach Bunny, notable not only as one of the week’s most scintillating presentations, but also because you never know who might turn up on the runway. It was just three years ago that an up-and-coming model caused a stir at Beach Bunny, a night you might say helped catapult her career. Her name? Kate Upton.

Of course, plenty of commerce occurs behind the scenes of these sultry shows. While Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim hosts these nighttime presentations, big business is taking place all over South Beach during the day, particularly at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the Swimwear Association of Florida’s annual SwimShow offers press and buyers a look at more than 2,500 lines from around the globe. Fold in the smaller events taking place at the W South Beach, The Setai and other hotels, and the result has become something of a juggernaut for the swim industry, which as of 2012 was estimated at $13.25 billion worldwide.

Thursday night’s event, meanwhile, was rooted in celebration, as Carter mingled with fellow designers Hoffman and Wise. The frenzy around the cars was followed up by a runway presentation of those same prints, this time as limited-edition cover-ups on models who walked the perimeter of The Raleigh’s famed pool. Around midnight, party-goers began to trickle out, in search of other South Beach adventures, even as designers were thinking about appointments with buyers early in the morning. Said Carter as he stood next to the pool, “It takes a lot of work to have this much fun.”

Do You Give Your Hair the Care It Needs During Winter?

Photo: Frank Rothe/ Getty

Photo: Frank Rothe/ Getty

When it’s cold outside, the last thing we want to do is spend time looking after our hair. We’re more concerned with chucking a beanie on and running out the door into the nearest vicinity of warmth. Although we give into the desperation at the time, it’s causing some serious problems for our lady locks.

Sydney-based celebrity hair stylist and owner of Dario Salon, Dario Cotroneo, has taken the time to share his nifty tips for how to show your hair the tender loving care it craves over winter. He’s worked with the likes of Gracie Otto and Laura Dundovic, so in Dario we trust.

Hat Hair

We get it, sometimes the beanie just doesn’t come off over winter. But for the moments that your hair does get the chance to breathe, full your hair up with some dry volume spray over the top area. It’s a quick fix, according to Dario.

Dull hair

During colder months, our hair is exposed to more heating than it’s used to. Because of that, hair can lose its natural shine and not reflect light. Dario recommends incorporating a hair mask into your routine, just once a week for 10 minutes. You should also invest in a heat protectant spritz before straightening, curling and blowdrying.

Dry scalp

Dandruff and itchiness of the scalp can be a reflection of less moisture in the air. Enter anti-dandruff shampoo. Plus, a hydrating oil can help soothe the irritation, just make sure you brush your hair and scalp to distribute the natural oils throughout the hair.

Breakage and Split Ends

Winter and split ends come hand-in-hand, but there’s a really easy solution called hydration. Just apply a deep conditioning oil to your hair and give a little more attention to your ends. You can also add protein-rich foods into your diet for super-strong strands. And we know it’s cold out there, but don’t forget to visit your hairdresser and get a haircut once every six weeks. It will work wonders.

Tangles and Static Hair

Layering sounds good in theory, but it’s causing your hair some serious grief. Putting jumpers on and pulling them off causes friction, tangling and static charge. Anti-frizz cream and moisturising detanglers are the key.

5 Party-Ready College Outfit Inspirations

From frat ragers to group study get-togethers over pizza, college is like one party after another — but when you live on the same campus as your entire social circle, it’s easy to get stuck in an outfit rut. No one wants to show up to a kegger looking like they’re going to the club, but you also don’t want to appear as if you just came from the library. Differentiate your laid-back dining hall and classroom outfits from your going-out looks by keeping a few pieces on reserve for party time, like a statement necklace, leather jacket or neon heels. The important thing to keep in mind when planning what to wear to a college party is the setting. If you know that professors will be present at an event, put a little extra polish into your outfit and dress appropriately. For a more relaxed get-together, you can pull out your funkier pieces or go with 3:00 a.m.-friendly cozy layers. And if you’ll be setting foot inside a frat house, make sure you wear something you won’t mind getting beer spilled on.

Numéro’s August Cover with Amanda Murphy Receives Rave Reviews (Forum Buzz)

French Numero‘s #155 August issue is one of the latest to surface on our forums and with a cover girl like Amanda Murphy, you know you’re going to get something dynamic. Photographed by Numéro regular, Greg Kadel, Amanda is shot against a vivid orange and yellow gradient backdrop, which adds to the drama of the cover image. The American model wears a sports-inspired headpiece teamed with a collared top for the engaging cover shot, styled by Bill Mullen.

Members of our forums just cannot get enough of the cover. “My goodness, I’m not even a fan of Amanda but I must admit to this being one fantastic cover. I’m sold,” wrote Abracadabra.

“Wow what a striking and edgy cover! Amanda is definitely cementing her position as one of the best new girls!!” enthused lukechapman.

Forum member anlabe32 is also on board and simply stated, “That’s one striking cover!”

“Great cover. Very striking. This is the first time that Amanda actually looks good,” posted a surprised MyNameIs.

Members are even satisfied with the contents of the new issue. “Numéro is alive!! I’ve seen all the content and I’m so getting this issue,” posted Abracadabra.

Psylocke does not share their sentiments, though: “I’m not super impressed with the cover and the main ed. It’s so over-styled but doesn’t really achieve much at that, and Amanda has the same vacant expression in every shot. The whole thing could have been good, but the end result leaves me cold.”

The thread has already been provided with HQs of the contents. Check out the fashion stories and share your own opinion here.

Mario Testino Shoots ‘Model Mania’ for V Magazine’s Fall Preview Issue (Forum Buzz)

V Magazine enlisted Mario Testino to photograph a number of models for its latest issue entitled “Model Mania.” For the Fall Preview issue, the Peruvian photographer shot not one, but four covers of seductive duos. Cover one goes to Emily DiDonato and Sean O’Pry, the second is handed to Joan Smalls and Aurelian Muller. Amanda Murphy and Clark Bockelman are on the third, while Bridget Malcolm and Matthew Terry land the fourth and final cover.

Above is the cover featuring Emily wearing Gucci and Sean in Emporio Armani.

Our forum members just cannot agree which cover is best and don’t seem to be satisfied with Mario’s efforts. “I like the idea, but it doesn’t come across as it should. They are all overly Photoshopped and what happened to Emily’s face?” questioned KateTheGreatest.

“OMG, I’ve seen better couple photos from ANTM contestants. This is just sad…no chemistry at all. Emily & Sean cover is the best of the bunch. Joan cover looks like there are people pointing guns at them,” wrote WilliamsLe010919.

Another member not feeling the chemistry was kokobombon. “The only cover I like is Amanda´s. IMO there’s no forced chemistry between them like in the other ones, just awkward posing.”

“Glad it’s not Miley, but wow no one looks amazing here, especially the ladies all look crazy messed with! Testino should be ashamed of himself, and the amount of airbrushing he does these days!!!” declared an unimpressed Miss Dalloway.

“None of them except for Sean and Emily are engaging with each other. They all seem disconnected and look like they want no part in this. And, I feel SO bad for Joan, bad lighting, bad Photoshop. I had to do a double-take to make sure it was her,” posted phatcatcan.

Check out the thread and see all four covers in HQ. Don’t forget to post your favorite and join the discussion here.

Runway to Real Life: Anna Dello Russo in Chanel, Miroslava Duma in Tod’s and More (Forum Buzz)

Where there’s a fashion show, there’s a fashion pack of stylists and editors there to take it in. So, of course, the likes of Anna Dello Russo , Miroslava Duma , Elena Perminova and Anya Ziourova were all out in full force, clad in right-off-the-runway gear when the haute couture shows were going on in Paris last week. Here’s a look at what they wore.

Always one to put her own spin on a runway look, Anna celebrated Karl Lagerfeld by wearing Chanel to a Fendi event. Her version of the dress features a modified sleeve and she accessorized with colorful booties and Fendi accessories. When it came to beauty, she stuck with her standard, softly-curled hair and perennial tan.

KKnardi seemed a bit jaded by ADR’s whole vibe. “I’m not sure about her latest couple of outfits… Not all pieces go well together with her super tanned skin,” he posted.
