Trevor Noah’s Old Offensive Tweets Come Back to Haunt Him

Just as soon as he was announced as Jon Stewart’s successor for The Daily Show , some eagle-eyed tweeps did a little digging into Trevor Noah’s past tweets, because why not take advantage of a chance to drag someone through the social media mud just as he achieves success? To pass up an opportunity would simply be un-American.

Noah is being called out by the Twitterverse for a few jokes he made that people found to be anti-Semitic and sexist. Throughout the comedian’s timeline, which for some reason wasn’t preemptively scoured of any and all tweets that could be deemed offensive to somebody, are a few quips that left several people less than amused:

Noah has since been called out by several members of the Twitterati, many of whom scoured his old tweets for more juicy fare. Today, Noah reportedly tweeted a response to the uproar that said, “Twitter does not have enough characters to respond to all the characters on Twitter.” The comment has since been deleted.

We’re not sure whether or not this controversy will jeopardize Noah’s new job, but if anything, it proves that all of us should probably be more careful about what we tweet – you never know when you’ll get a big promotion and people will go digging to put all your worst social media moments on blast.

Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley Are Starting a Line Together

Katie Hillier Luella Barltey

Image: Imaxtree

With last week’s announcement that Marc Jacobs would be absorbing his Marc by Marc brand into his main line, the question of what would become of the diffusion label’s creative director Katie Hillier and women’s design director Luella Bartley remained. Well, it looks like the pair will be pretty busy as they just announced that they’re teaming up to start their own label, aptly named Hillier Bartley.

The new luxury label will be hitting shelves sooner than you think – they’ve already got a collection due out for the fall 2015 season. Bartley says the line is “a very personal project which Katie and I have been working on for years. It is a culmination of everything I have learnt as a designer and a woman and is purely and defiantly about the clothes and fabrics.” According to the designers, the line has a masculine charm, so it will be interesting to see what the label, which will include clothing, accessories and handbags, will offer next season.

As for their other gig, Hillier is expected to stay on with the Marc Jacobs label, though things seem to still be up in the air for Bartley.

Lisa Hyde Lives the Luxury Life for New Hamptons-Inspired Fashion Shoot

Lisa Hyde fashion shoot

Photo: Dan Molloy

Lisa Hyde ran around The Bachelor mansion for the whole nine yards last year, which is probably why she looks so at home in Huxley School of Makeup’s new high-flyer photo shoot. The only difference here is there’s no Blake Garvey or Osher Günsberg lurking around with date cards to cramp her style this time around.

As the new face of the college, Lisa sports a range of new-season looks from high-end local and international labels to showcase the students’ makeup skills in the Hamptons-inspired shoot.

Photo: Dan Molloy

Photographed by Dan Molloy, designer labels like Camilla and Marc, Senso, Nicholas, Chanel and Givenchy are the focal point, with the crisp whites, fringed frocks and textured pieces really getting Lisa into fabulous trophy-wife character.

“The funny thing was, the owner of the Hamptons-styled house, where the shoot took place, this was her life,” Lisa tells us. “It wasn’t just a set we transformed for the shoot. I actually became this stylish, rich woman with a bursting cupboard full of the most incredible designer clothes.”

Photo: Dan Molloy

Photo: Dan Molloy

Her favourite? The asymmetrical white Camilla and Marc dress, although she admits you would never see her lounging around home in such lavish pieces. “I honestly felt like I was waiting for my private jet to arrive in the back yard,” she explains to theFashionSpot.

Even though she looks ready for a cameo on the Real Housewives of Melbourne, it wasn’t Lisa’s appearance that landed her the gig at Huxley School of Makeup. “Each year we are looking for someone who is more than just a pretty face,” the school’s director, Michael Huxley, tells us. “We were looking for an ambassador whose personality is as radiant as her complexion.”

“I knew right away that she would be the best person for the job,” Michael continued, mentioning that they hit it off judging fashions on the field at Gold Coast Turf Club earlier this year. “She is positive, down to earth, intelligent and someone I believe young women can look up to.”

Stars Launch the Samsung Galaxy S6 in Style

Models, fashion bloggers and WAGs got in touch with their techy sides in Sydney last night, stepping out to celebrate the launch of Samsung’s sleek new mobile device, the Galaxy S6. Some outfits were just as impressive as the new handheld, others not so much.

Check out the looks below.

Laura Dundovic at Samsung S6 launch in Sydney

Photo: Getty

Model Laura Dundovic added class to her navy-blue Bec & Bridge mini, featuring a wrap-style v-neck and asymmetrical hemline, with a black quilted bag and pointed-toe pumps. The side-parted updo and deep-red lip pulled the look together, and, since her stylish efforts at the MBFWA 2015 schedule launch, this stunner is back on our radar.

Ndia Fairfax at Samsung S6 launch in Sydney

Photo: Getty

It’s hard not to love pint-sized fashion blogger Nadia Fairfax, but she looked like she could’ve been waiting tables at this event. We know, we hate ourselves for saying it. She might have gotten away with the bow tie had her hair not been swept up like she was hard at work, or even if she traded in the tailored black pants for something else. We can be thankful that she wore her party mules, though, because otherwise we’d have to question her on the up-and-coming catering biz.

Terry Biviano at Samsung S6 launch in Sydney

Photo: Getty

Queen WAG and shoe designer Terry Biviano looked just as smooth and glossy as a brand new Samsung Galaxy S6, in a black high-neck jumpsuit which exposed her shoulders. Well done, Terry. We’d trade in our iPhones for a new S6 if it meant we’d gain some of your style know-how.

Here’s What the Kardashians Call Their Glam Sessions

Khloe Kardashian Makeup

Image: WENN

Khloé Kardashian and her sisters love them some makeup. Between Kim’s flawless contouring and Kylie Jenner‘s plump, drawn-on lips, it’s clear that the reality TV clan knows its way around a makeup brush. Indeed, the Kardashian-Jenners spend so much time getting gussied up that they’ve come up with their own slang for it — terms that can be confusing to us mere mortals. Khloé explains the nomenclature to Into The Gloss.

“One time I said to someone, ‘I have H and M tomorrow,’ and they were like, ‘Why are you going to H&M?’ I thought everyone knew that H and M meant ‘hair and makeup,’ but then I realized it’s just us,” she said. H&M: Affordable retail destination for us poor folk, shorthand for the Kardashian-Jenner family’s expensive day-to-day routines.

Khloé, who admits she sometimes wears lip color to the gym, says that’s not the only term the sisters use for their hair and makeup sessions. “I’ll be like ‘What time is glam?’” she said, “and people are like ‘What the f**k is glam?’”

But whether you call it “glam,” “H&M” or “not worth the daily investment,” one thing’s for certain: Whoever the Kardashians have got on their glam squad is doing a bang-up job.

Kim Kardashian’s Platinum Blonde Hair Gets a Last Hurrah on Cover of ELLE France

Kim Kardashian’s platinum locks make their cover debut on this month’s edition of ELLE France. Kardashian is pictured in her signature monochrome, all-black everything ensemble, created by her friend Olivier Rousteing at Balmain for the Spring 2015 season.

Rousteing is also interviewed for the magazine, pictured cheek to cheek with his reality star BFF, for whom he has had no shortage of lofty praise. “I think Kim is one of the most impressive business women I’ve ever met,” he told Glamour UK earlier this month. “She’s got an amazing career, husband and beautiful kid. She’s so powerful, but at the same time really humble with good values.”

It looks like Kim shot the cover during her whirlwind trip to Paris Fashion Week earlier this month when she debuted her new hair color to the world. But if you’re a fan of platinum Kim, you might want to cherish this blonde moment now that she’s dyed her hair back to black.

Emma Mulholland has been announced as the winner of the 2015 BT Emerging Designer Award at the BT Runway for Success event at Moore Park’s Royal Hall of Industries last night.

The colourful and dynamic designer beat finalists Macgraw and Pageant for the prestigious title, taking home a prize worth over $40,000. The package includes one year of financial planning services courtesy of BT Financial Group, two return flights to LA, backstage hair services for one major hair event by TONI&GUY, and two mentoring sessions with two fashion industry icons provided by the Australian Fashion Chamber.

Emma was chosen by a panel of esteemed industry pros, including Vogue Australia editor-in-chief and Australian Fashion Chamber chairman Edwina McCann, The Australian fashion editor Glynis Traill-Nash, Zimmermann co-founder Nicky Zimmermann, Shine By Three Blogger Margaret Zhang, Westpac relationship director Kellie Robertson, and Speciality Fashion Group director Megan Quinn.

Emma joins the likes of Christopher Esber and Michael Lo Sordo on the list of designers who’ve taken out the title since 2003. Needless to say, it’s a pretty phenomenal win for the young Aussie, who hails from the NSW South Coast town of Ulladulla.

Congrats, Emma!

Mary Katrantzou Wins the 2015 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund

Mary Katrantzou has something to celebrate today as the designer has been awarded the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund prize, taking home a year-long mentorship and £200,000 to help build up her buzzy brand. Judged by a panel that included Naomi Campbell, Topshop’s Mary Homer, Samantha Cameron, BFC chief executive Caroline Rush and more, Katrantzou took top honors.

Emilia Wickstead, Mother of Pearl, Osman, Sophia Webster, Holly Fulton and Michael van der Ham were amongst the seven designers nominated for the prize. Clearly, Ms. Katrantzou had stiff competition. “Mary Katrantzou is incredibly deserving of this year’s award,” Vogue UK editor and BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund chair Alexandra Shulman said. “It was an extremely diverse shortlist but ultimately we all agreed that Mary has not only created a strong and hugely appealing identity for her work but that she has put in place measures that, along with the support of this prize, should ensure an exciting and successful next stage of her career.”

Congratulations to Ms. Katrantzou! We can’t wait to see what this infusion of cash does for her label.

Marc Jacobs Is Now on Instagram

“I am so appalled by the whole social media thing. I don’t get it, it doesn’t appeal to me, neither does a computer, or working on a laptop,” said new Instagram member Marc Jacobs just last month in an interview with Suzy Menkes. Yesterday, the designer launched his own personal Instagram page @themarcjacobs, celebrating his turn to the dark side with a lightly filtered image of him smiling and glancing furtively to the side.

So far, Mr. Jacobs has garnered about 36.7k followers on the social media site, a number that will most definitely rise in the coming days. Marc has clearly had a change of heart when it comes to social media, so, bring on the shirtless #wokeuplikethis selfies, Mr. Jacobs.

Actress Emma Lung Shows Off Her Pregnancy Bod in Nude Photo

Emma Lung

Photo: Getty

33-year-old actress Emma Lung is very freakin’ pregnant, and she’s not afraid to let everyone know about it. The Australian Wonderland star took to Instagram today to share a black-and-white photo of her baby belly, wearing nothing but her pride.

This is the fringed beauty’s first child, after getting married to writer and director Henry Zalapa last January. She’s already created a hashtag for the unborn baby, as most soon-to-pop mothers do these days, using #babyzalapa in the all-revealing post. There are only three photos under the hashtag so far, but, if this photo is anything to go by, we’re about to see a lot more.

She also gave us a little more info via her hashtagging revelation tactics, telling us “#noitsnottwins” and that this is the “homestretch” of her pregnancy (“#nopunintended).

International Style Mavens are Heading to Australian Fashion Week Next Month

It’s official – this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is set to be the biggest yet. The RSVPs are in, and international fashionistas are set to make up a big chunk of the event’s guest list from April 12-16.

“Australia is one of the hottest creative industries at the moment, generating huge interest from international media and retailers wanting to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia,” said Emily Weight, director of strategy at IMG Fashion, in a news release.

“Now more than ever, members of the global fashion industry are looking for a unique product to set them apart from other boutiques and retailers, and they see the Australian designer collections as a key offering to their customer base,” she continued.

This is the kind of turn out which could really put Aussie fashion on the map, and deservingly so. Leading e-tailers Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, Farfetch, mytheresa.com, Anthropologie, Asos, Avenue 32, Forward, Goop, Les Galeries Lafayette, LN-CC, Luisa Via Roma and Revolve Clothing are all making an appearance for the event’s 20th anniversary, giving home-grown designers invaluable stockist opportunities.

Shopbop buyer Jenny Fuchs said in a news release, “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is a key event for Shopbop. It affords us the opportunity to work closely with new and existing Australian designers and to see firsthand how the Australian fashion customer is reacting to and interpreting trends into her wardrobe.”

As for the publicity side of things, major US glossies like Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan and W, plus PORTER, Buro 24/7 and The Coveteur, could potentially give our labels press coverage like never before if they like what they see.

“It seems only yesterday I was styling the Wayne Cooper show when Australian Fashion Week first launched, so it’s exciting for me to be coming back twenty years later as a guest,” Gabriele Hackworthy, fashion director of PORTER, said in a news release.

“As a proud Australian, I’ve enjoyed watching this country’s style develop and grow on the global stage over the years and I applaud MBFWA — one of the premiere events for spotting new talent — for shining a spotlight on Australian designers and rising stars in the fashion world,” Gabrielle continued.

In addition to the editors and buyers, global fashion influencer Vanessa Hong of The Haute Pursuit will attend the event for the first time, and street style photographers Lee Oliveira and Phil Oh will also be in Sydney to capture all the trends both on and off the runway.

18-year-old Cody Simpson and his 19-year-old model girlfriend Gigi Hadid have just shocked us with a world first, as the only couple to ever take part in Mario Testino‘s Towel Series.

Aussie heartthrob Cody wraps one hand around Gigi’s back for the shot, while his other hand holds up the towel across their rude parts. We can’t be sure what his third hand is up to.

Something about this feels a little wrong, maybe because just a blink ago they were children, but celebrities and fans alike are having a good old laugh about the pic. Andreja Pejić Steals the Show at Josh Goot’s VAMFF Runway

All eyes were on transgender beauty Andreja Pejić last night, as she closed Josh Goot’s Autumn 2015 showcase for the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF).

The Bosnian-born, Australian-raised model stole the limelight in a sleek strapless dress, featuring a sexy front split which showed some leg. Even though other pieces in the collection boasted beautiful, bright florals in cobalt blue, aubergine, forest green, mustard yellow and more, Andreja didn’t need all the bells and whistles to be noticed by the crowd.

Her fierce looks backed by an amazing story, including her gender reassignment surgery last year, was enough to captivate the audience, regardless of the other big-name models like Montana Cox, Samantha Harris and Ollie Henderson who also walked the runway.

This was Andreja’s first time back on an Australian runway since she became a woman, however, she made her official catwalk debut as Andreja at London Fashion Week last month.

Having Andreja strut her stuff for the showcase was also a big win for Josh Goot, with the label recently emerging from voluntary administration.

The Bachelor NZ Contestant Lets One Rip on the First Date

You can plan a pretty picnic but you can’t predict the weather, which happened to be cloudy with a 99% chance of fart for New Zealand’s The Bachelor and a contestant on the show this week.

Bachie Arthur Green got quite the surprise when his date for the day, English yoga teach Poppy, turned their romantic date into a farty party as she let one loose while trying to sit down next to him. “This is pretty magical,” Poppy said, right before she did a pop-off right in front of him and all of New Zealand.

“Did you just fart?” Arthur laughed. “I slipped in the sand,” Poppy replied, but bachie knew she was just fartin’ around. “Poppy lets out a little fart and it’s just so funny,” he later said to the camera.

Poor Poppy still managed to escape elimination at the rose ceremony, but, in this case, roses really smell like poo-poo-oo. Better out than in, right? RIGHT?!

Zanita Whittington Launches the OnceWas Debut Collection

OnceWas Zanita Whittington Autumn 2015

Photo: Nick Blair/OnceWas

Melbourne label OnceWas has looked to esteemed Australian fashion blogger Zanita Whittington to launch its very first collection in the marketplace.

The debut Autumn 2015 range is called Departure Lounge, for good reason, championing relaxed silhouettes, like drop-crotch pants, and luxe textures, like cosy knits and slinky silks. If you think the divine aesthetic looks familiar, it’s because the company has rebranded and evolved from its previous name, SpencerLacy, while still staying loyal to its signature style.

“SpencerLacy has evolved so much in the last 3 years and we wanted to reflect this through a new, modern look,” OnceWas creative director, Belinda Abbott, said in a news release. “We love Zanita’s personal style and approach to dressing and feel that she is the perfect face to launch OnceWas”.

While Zanita is a star both in front of and behind the camera, she admits it’s been a while since she’s pulled out the smize and posing know-how for a shoot away from the fashion week streets. “It was great to put on my ‘modelling hat’ again,” she explained of the shoot on her blog. “I hope I wasn’t too rusty!”

“It really refreshed in my mind the specific skill set that it takes to pose up a storm,” she continued. “Props to those girls who kill it in the modelling industry, some of them are real artists.”

The collection is now available for pre-order over at the OnceWas online store. We’re sure true Zanita devotees have already added to their carts, so if something catches your fancy we suggest you try and beat those blogettes to the punch.

QVB 2015 campaign

Sydney CBD’s Queen Victoria Building (QVB) has just unveiled one of the most beautiful campaigns we’ve ever laid eyes on, as part of a year-long initiative to celebrate Australian art and culture.

Marta Dusseldorp QVB campaign

The stellar line-up includes actresses Marta Dusseldorp, Gracie Otto (and her father Barry Otto) and young up-and-comer Miah Madden, Archibald Prize winner Vincent Fantauzzo, author Miranda Darling and food writer Kate Gibbs.

They are joined by doyenne of Australian architecture Penelope Seidler AM, the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s artistic director, Richard Tognetti AO, the Australian Ballet’s artistic director, David McAllister AM, and its principle dancer, Amber Scott.

QVB campaign 2015

“Bringing together notable figures in the arts, whether they be established or up and coming, we hope to shine a light on the diversity of talent this country has to offer and to draw focus to the value culture adds to our society,” Victor Gaspar, Group General Manager of Ipoh Management, said in a news release.

The campaign was shot by fashion photographer Georges Antoni, in QVB’s wondrous Tea Room with an elaborate set by Sydney Theatre’s Alice Babidge. And if you think the final shot is phenom, a series of group portraits will also be released throughout 2015. The first will showcase Dusseldorp, Fantauzzo, and Darling evoking the glamour and mystique of old Hollywood, and we can’t wait.

To further solidify its love for the arts, QVB will also host a costume exhibition later in the year in partnership with the Australian Ballet.

Why Rebel Wilson is the Perfect Cover Girl

Rebel Wilson ELLE Australia April 2015

Photo: ELLE Australia

Rebel Wilson has been tapped as ELLE Australia‘s April 2015 cover girl, and the choice is spot-on for so many reasons. Obviously the Australian comedian and actress makes for a smokin’ cover with her soft-blonde waves and porcelain skin, plus she’s a truly inspiring Aussie expat making it big abroad, but she’s also got a get-the-job done attitude and, interestingly, modelling know-how.

Although the 29-year-old admits she never thought she’d ever be working it in front of the camera decked out in fancy threads, she says her old viewing habits are now coming in handy. “I never thought I’d be the type of girl who’d be doing, like, fashion shoots,” she explained to ELLE Australia .

“I used to watch some of the reality shows about models and then, weirdly, now I try to incorporate into my fashion shoots the skills I learnt from watching those shows,” she continued, crediting one of the modelling industry’s greats for her ultimate smize. “It’s like thanks Tyra [Banks], cause you’ve given me like all the cool tips. Like how to smile with your eyes.”

But don’t get the girl wrong, she still likes to get in and get out — no fluffing around. “I hate people who do a lot of takes,” she said. “I like to nail it and then go home. I like to crush it in, like, two takes.”

We bet the ELLE Australia team’s love for Rebel is at an all-time high thanks to how undoubtedly fun, and quick, the shoot must’ve been with what appears to be the perfect cover girl. You can check out the rest of Rebel’s interview here, or pick up a copy of ELLE Australia‘s April issue on March 23.

Lisa Wilkinson Failed to Wear the Penis Jacket as Promised

Lisa Wilkinson Today Show

Photo: 9JumpIn

After Natarsha Belling’s penis jacket sent the internet into meltdown earlier this week, fellow presenter Lisa Wilkinson promised to stand up for the sisterhood by wearing the same dick-tastic piece on air this morning.

We guess the Today host got a little shy, because there was a little erectile dysfunction, if you will, when she showed up on set dickless. It’s just that she’d already embraced the chest penis last week, and she needed to give the poor guy a break (at the drycleaners) before gearing him up again.

Look, we’re really not surprised that the penis jacket had to go to the drycleaners. Mess is sometimes made. But don’t they have stylists and assistants for that kind of handiwork? Maybe she was nervous about how she’d measure up to Natarsha’s smooth, fair-skinned and freckleless specimen. It’s a cruel world out there.

Lisa’s pink-striped frock was cute, but it really wasn’t the morning glory we were after.

Vanessa Paradis stars on the magazine’s newly-released April 2015 cover sporting a shaggy bob teamed with a blush pink lip. The French singer, model and actress was recently unveiled as one of Karl Lagerfeld‘s muses for the latest Chanel handbag collection and also fronted the campaign for the occasion. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Vanessa wears Chanel on Vogue Ukraine’s new cover, which forum members are left undecided about.

Did the team behind the shoot capture Vanessa in her best light? “She looks like Sasha Pivovarova. Looks more of ELLE France than Vogue,” discredited MON.

Benn98 shared the same opinion and echoed, “Uneventful, it indeed looks like an ELLE France cover. Vogue Ukraine has been very devoid of actual fashion, on the covers that is.”

Handbag Queen also failed to show support. “Awful cover. Don’t understand her appeal at all,” she sniggered.

“I saw this a million times! It’s not a good cover for Spring! The background is so dead and Vanessa doesn’t look okay, she seems tired,” narcyza later slammed.

But the rest disagree. “I love this. Everything works imo… the color scheme, the styling, the layout. They Photoshopped her face but still she manages to look more her age,” approved kokobombon.

“Fantastic cover! Paying tribute to Vanessa through the French Lolita/rock vibe is awesome. Works!” noted |PerfectTonight|.

Gigi Hadid Insists She Didn’t Snort Cocaine at the VS Spring BreakParty

Gig Hadid Cocaine allegation

Photo: Snapchat

19-year-old model Gigi Hadid is denying any drug-taking behaviour at the Victoria’s Secret Spring Break Party in Miami over the weekend, after boyfriend Cody Simpson‘s snapchat caught her in a compromising, cocaine-snorting position.

The model magnate seems to be pretty bloody offended that anyone would suggest she’s sniffing the same path as Kate Moss, taking to her Twitter for a series of tweets to set the record straight.

Alright, Gigi. No matter how suspicious it looks, we believe you’re a hugger and not a drugger. But, if you weren’t doing the bad bad thang, what were you doing so close to the bench? Lose an earring? Licking up some left over root beer? Please, do tell us.

Meet Other Presenters Who Rocked the Penis Jacket Like Natarsha Belling

Natarsha Belling isn’t the only presenter who’s made a dick of herself lately.

The Aussie TV personality wore a Scanlan Theodore jacket with an unfortunately-shaped neckline on national television on Sunday night, but it turns out others have made a similar, ballsy decision.

Melissa Doyle‘s chest penis came just days before Natarsha’s, although her cockiness was less noticeable thanks to her strategically placed head pubes. There was always Eva Millic‘s maroon version for the 2014 State of Origin as well, but somehow she wasn’t revealed to be a dipstick either.

Perhaps our favourite, though, was Lateline‘s Leigh Sales back in 2010, whose cut-out style was pretty in-your-face. You’d think fellow and future presenters would’ve learnt to get things, namely genitalia, off their chest after this shortcoming.

The stylist for this one probably should’ve been given the sack.

Andreja Pejić Makes a Funny About Body Image in the Industry

Andreja Pejic on The Project

Photo: Tenplay

Australian supermodel Andreja Pejić is in town for VAMFF 2015, stopping by The Project last night to make a cute little joke about body image expectations in the modelling industry.

Comedian Ross Noble posed an interesting question to Andreja, who underwent gender reassignment surgery last year. He asked, “I’d like to know, you spend a lot of time walking along shiny catwalks, but what would happen if you took an actual cat and made it walk on a catwalk?”

Andreja replied, “Well, I think I would probably lose my job because a cat is like a clothing size minus-10 and how could I compete with that?” Hmmm. What a light-hearted way of saying the smaller your physical size as a model, the higher your chances of landing the gig.

We get the satirical nature, and we love Andreja. But you’ve got to admit it’s an interesting concept. Especially when other areas of the workforce focus on university degrees or communication skills, rather than body shape.

Watch the full interview here. The model-of-the-moment also talks about her documentary, transgender issues and being discovered at McDonald’s.

Alicia Vikander Is W Magazine’s April Cover Star, Who Would’ve Guessed? (Forum Buzz)

On a regular basis, you’ll hear us ranting that magazines continue to give us the same recycled cover stars. Yet W magazine managed to surprise us by delivering a relatively unknown actress for its April 2015 cover. Alicia Vikander stars on the magazine’s newly-released cover, captured by Willy Vanderperre for W‘s latest installment. On the cover image, the current girlfriend of Michael Fassbender dons a crisp white dress from Louis Vuitton with stylist of the shoot Edward Enninful teaming the creation with a black bow headband by Giambattista Valli. In a bid to spice things up, an eye-catching psychedelic masthead was layered over the conservative cover image.

Are our forum members impressed? “I love her! I’m glad she’s getting this exposure, hopefully not for her relationship cause she’s excellent as an actress, and I’ve been wanting to learn Danish after A Royal Affair thanks to her,” commented MulletProof.

“Who could’ve guessed? Good job W!” praised t-rex.

Also full of enthusiasm was RanThe: “Great job W! Get her early because she’s going to be everywhere this fall!”

MON couldn’t contain his excitement, either. “I can’t believe I’m about to say this.. but, I finally love a W cover (with the exception of the hair – it could’ve been better). I adore the feminine touch to it especially the printed logo. I also love the vulnerability of the cover and the makeup is on point!”

The rest of us just haven’t the foggiest. “Not familiar with her or her work, but what a plain cover. It’s nice they are supporting fresh talent though!” shared Miss Dalloway.

“I hope she’s more charismatic than that on screen, zZzzZ!” hissed HeatherAnne.

Watch: Laurina Fleure Asks the Fashion Pack What They Think of Blake Garvey’s Style at VAMFF

Montana Cox and Laurina Fleure discuss Blake Garvey pic at VAMFF

Photo: YouTube

Even though a new bachie has been announced, it’s still deemed appropriate to make fun of Blake Garvey and all the photographic collateral he provided as The Bachelor in 2014.

For a Studio 10 gig at VAMFF 2015, The Bachelor Season 2 contestant Laurina Fleure pulled out a now-famous picture of Blake dressed as Alice in Wonderland, wig and all, asking models and designers what they think of the look.

“We’re seeing a lot more sort of men’s fashion emerging through the festival, what do you think of this guy’s fashion choice?” Laurina asked Montana Cox. “Jesus Christ,” the model replied, a little taken aback. “Umm… you know, look, I think it’s working for him, it’s really showing off his pecks, it’s showing off his figure. I don’t mind it,” she continued, probably sarcastically.

Camilla Franks praised the storybook-inspired get-up as well. “I love it. I mean, life can get really serious sometimes, so I think embrace your crazy,” the designer said.

There’s a good chance the respected fashionistas were taking the piss, but, if not, we might need to brush up on our fashion-critiquing skills. Perhaps skirt valances and spade motifs are back? Watch the full video below.

The X Factor Judges Fired After Bullying Contestant for His Appearance

Willy Moon and Natalie Kills on The X Factor NZ

Photo: YouTube

We’d like to warn everyone not wear a suit or slick your hair back — ever. A contestant from New Zealand’s The X Factor has been publicly harassed and belittled for doing just that, because apparently there is only man allowed to rock the respectable-gentleman look.

That man’s name is Willy Moon, a one-hit-wonder judge on The X Factor NZ panel. But if was his wife, fellow judge Natalia Kills, who was really enforcing the copyright on her bae’s look. So much so that she called the contestant, 25-year-old Joe Irvine, “cheesy”, “disgusting” and “a laughing stock” for sporting such a likely outfit.

“I am disgusted at how much you have copied my husband,” Kills said with a less-than-impressed resting bitch face. “From the hair, to the suit — do you not have any value or respect for originality?”

Moon also gave Simon Cowell‘s meanness a run for its money, saying, “I mean, it’s like Norman Bates dressing up in his mother’s clothing.” He continued, “It’s just a little bit creepy and I feel like you’re going to stitch someone’s skin to your face and then kill everyone in the audience.”

Rest assured, the Cleopatra-inspired Kills and her royal-hubby Moon were sacked less than 24 hours after the episode was taped. Mediaworks revealed in a release that the married couple were “no longer suitable” and have been “removed” from the show, with its CEO, Mark Weldon, saying that the comments “were completely unacceptable”.

“While the judges on X Factor are expected to provide critiques of performances, we will not tolerate such destructive tirades from any of the judges,” Weldon said. “We no longer have confidence that Kills and Moon are the right people to perform the role of The X Factor judges, and they will leave the show, effective immediately.”

Kills and Moon will be replaced before next week’s show.

You’ll Either Love or Hate Cate Blanchett’s New Vogue Australia Cover (Forum Buzz)

April covers are coming in thick and fast. Vogue Australia‘s newly-released cover is the most recent to drop in our forums and we’re left undecided. Coming back for a second time since Edwina McCann took the helm, Cate Blanchett stars on the magazine’s April 2015 cover. We appreciate the team giving us something different, but the majority of us can’t pinpoint what’s exactly bothering us. Cate sat for Emma Summerton wearing a baby pink jacket teamed with an eye-catching headpiece, and you’ll either love it or hate it.

Our forum members share mixed opinions on Vogue Australia’s efforts this month. “So striking and fresh. Always a pleasure to see Cate in all of her glory! Definitely one of my favorite and most talented actresses!” hailed Nepenthes as soon as the cover surfaced, kicking us off on a high note.

“I love the cover, so elegant and lovely. I like the styling, it has that Dutch painting thing going on. I also like the layout and the negative effect on the masthead. And of course, I love Cate,” kokobombon enthused.

“Wow. Very, very cool. Much better than her last cover,” responded YourMonster.

Miss Dalloway also declared this cover more compelling than the one from February 2014: “So much better than her last cover, surprised to see her back already.”

But the rest of us just aren’t feeling it. “Seriously though, what have they done to her face?” questioned Kite, hinting at a possible Photoshop blunder.

“I love her but I honestly wouldn’t mind if she took like a two year break. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and it would make for an epic welcome back,” A.D.C. ranted.

Oxymore was quick to complain: “Cate doesn’t look like herself. Those celebrities need to stop pretending they’re 25. Just assume your age. I mean look at Meryl Streep or Jessica Lange, they are so gorgeous.”

What Last Season’s Bachelorettes Think of The Bachelor for 2015

The Bachelor for 2015 has been announced, and bachelor nation is going a little cuh-razy. His name is Sam Wood, he’s 34, and a successful entrepreneur from Melbourne. If one thing’s for sure, it’s that new bachie doesn’t look anything like the Cabbage Patch lovin’ Blake Garvey.

Considering there were women who had to put up with The Bachelor saga, and Blake, last season, we were pretty freakin’ interested to hear what they thought about Channel 10’s new bachie pick. See what they think of Mr Wood below.

“Sam Wood looks exactly like what I had imagined they’d choose for this season of the Bach,” 2014 winner Sam Frost told theFashionSpot. “Every woman loves a guy who loves children! So the girls will no doubt be frothing. It’s going to be so fun to watch. Let’s hope he has more personality than… well, you know.”

Zoe O'Brien at CLEO Bachelor of the year 2014

Photo: Getty

“I looked at him, and my boyfriend is also named Sam and he looks very similar to him!” Zoe O’Brien told us. “If he had’ve been the Bachelor last season he might’ve been in a bit of trouble, but lucky I’ve got my own Sam. I don’t know his personality at all, so can’t go on that. Similar looks to my Sam, but I’m happy with my own Sam.
”

“OMG the new bachie is 1000 times better than Blake,” Diana Dinu told theFashionSpot. “He is seriously my type of guy! I’m actually super jealous of the girls this year! I want to come back as an intruder!”

As for The Bachelor himself, well, hopefully he’s keen to upstage Blake. It shouldn’t be too hard a task. “Being the Bachelor is a real privilege and a once in a lifetime opportunity. I plan on embracing the experience with an open mind, while wearing my heart on my sleeve,” Sam said.

“I hope to find a woman with whom I share a sense of fun, an undeniable chemistry and a mutual respect. Ultimately I’m searching for the love of my life. I’m going to throw myself into the adventure and I’m prepared to have the absolute time of my life.”

As long as he doesn’t propose and change his mind before the finale airs, everyone should be just fine.

Insurgent‘s world premiere hit London’s Odeon Leicester Square on Wednesday, March 11, and the woman responsible for the entire Divergent trilogy, Veronica Roth, stepped out in a clean, sleek ensemble which included Australian designer Michael Lo Sordo.

The American novelist opted for the Aussie label’s wrap-effect striped maxi skirt ($569.29) from its Spring 14 collection, which allowed just enough room to show off her two-strap Tory Burch heels.

She teamed the pinstripe piece with complementary crisp whites, like her V-neck top and Ann Demeulemeester blazer, which gave off a certain summery Hamptons feel. She polished off the look with a Salvatore Ferragmo clutch, Le Vian jewels and a bold-red lip, instantly bringing the contemporary get-up into red-carpet territory.

Models Step Out for the 2015 Australian Grand Prix Ladies Day

Yesterday, March 12, was the Mercedes-Benz Ladies Day of the 2015 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, meaning the girls got their time to shine during the male-dominated event.

David Jones ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox, and former Australia’s Next Top Model contestant Sophie Van Den Akker were among the recognisable faces who stepped out for performances by Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dean Ray and the Biggie Smalls Breakdance Troupe.

Check out the models’ looks below.

Jessica Gomes Grand Prix Ladies Day 2015

Sports Illustrated model Jessica covered up in an all-black get-up including a silky knot-front Camilla and Marc blouse, coated capris and pointed toe shoes. How is it possible that she looked this hot with only her ankles, hands and face on display?

Montana Cox Grand Prix Ladies Day 2015

Montana essentially wore the same thing as Jessica from the hips down, but opted for tight plunging top, buttoned blazer and shades perched on her head instead, which made it look like she was on her way to aviation class.

Second runner-up from ANTM Cycle 6, Sophie, kept it neutral in this strapless Zachary the Label beige mini teamed with nude caged pumps. We think this might’ve looked better had the piece been a little looser, so that the material didn’t create ripples across the bottom or showcase Sophie’s hips and abdomen. Otherwise, we think the shade complements her bronzed skin and blonde hair perfectly.
