Nicole Miller Marches Modern Urban Warriors Down the Runway for Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Inspiration: "Strong, iconic women — female warriors," the designer told theFashionSpot.

The Look: Modern urban warrior. Intricately pieced-together garments and slick, black leather gave off an armor feel, while still being city-appropriate. Miller's strong woman is super feminine, as she showed hardly any pants throughout the whole collection. The collection used the interplay of cool and warm tones to great effect, and leather/peacock along with feathers/fur played a big role.

The Accessories: Black tights and layered black jewels (necklaces and earrings) abounded.

The Beauty: Smoky eye to the max with intricate, slicked-back updos. Nails were a kind of play on the classic French manicure, colored with red and black in a neat ombre pattern.

The Takeaway: Perfect pieces for taking on the urban battlefield.
