Schiaparelli has finally found a designer to take the place of Marco Zanini, who served at the helm of the house for a mere two seasons. Bertrand Guyon will take up the banner for the revived fashion house.
Guyon is no stranger to couture, having worked in that capacity for Givenchy, Christian Lacroix and Valentino. Guyon will be responsible for creating both ready-to-wear and couture for Schiaparelli and is slated to make his debut in his new position this July during Haute Couture Week.
“Elsa Schiaparelli is an enchanting couture house. I have always been fascinated by its exceptional legacy, its luminous and intimate story, its quirky and poetic world, its ultimate chic and its endless creativity,” Guyon said of his new appointment. “I feel honoured to be part of Schiaparelli today and develop it further, respecting its heritage and tradition while adding a contemporary and modern take, something Elsa Schiaparelli has always demonstrated.”
Zanini is rumored to have left Schiaparelli after feeling the position was not a good fit. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what Guyon whips up for the house.
