The woman who helped set the pace for the image of “Swinging London” in the 60s has passed away. Julie Harris, the costume designer who dressed the Beatles and James Bond, passed away at the age of 94 after leading an illustrious career for which she was honored with an Oscar in 1965 for the film Darling.

Harris is responsible for the outfits in the Beatles’ Help! and HA Hard Day’s Night, and created the costumes for Bond films like 1967’s Casino Royale and Live and Let Die. She also did the costumes for Rollerball, Goodbye, Mr. Chips and The Great Muppet Caper. British Film Institute curator Jo Botting confirmed Harris’ death as she was a close friend.

“In a career that embraced more than 80 films and television productions, as well as several stage plays, Julie worked with some of the greatest international stars in the history of cinema, and for some of its most legendary directors and producers,” Botting said. “Her outstanding work was constantly nominated for awards. She was an amazing woman.”

Her work will live on forever in film and she will always be remembered for bringing the London look to life on the big screen.
