10 Prince Memes and Gifs You Can Use to Celebrate His Birthday

He is 5’2″, celebrating his 57th birthday (though he doesn’t look a day over 40) and still one of the sexiest men alive. Throughout his career, Prince has blessed us with some of the most soulful, sensual music mankind’s ears have ever heard and though he might be a little reformed from his younger days, he still somehow oozes sexuality and all-around badassness.

But we can’t discount Prince’s other contributions, like his antics that have launched some hilarious Internet memes and gifs, perfect for expressing yourself for an assortment of occasions. Here, we round up some of the best of Prince on the Internet.

BFC Fashion Trust Winners Announced

Emilia Wickstead

Fashion awards season is in full swing. Earlier this week, the CFDA held its annual Fashion Awards ceremony and now the British governing fashion body has announced the winners of its Fashion Trust competition. Nine designers have been chosen to receive financial backing to help grow their lines and there is a lot of major talent on the list.

Mother of Pearl, Sophia Webster, Sibling, Prism, Emilia Wickstead, Holly Fulton, Marios Schwab, Palmer//Harding and David Koma will all split a grant worth £300,000 (about $458,359). This crop of designers joins the ranks of past winners like Christopher Kane, House of Holland, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda Ilincic, Nicholas Kirkwood and more. At last night’s ceremonies, the BFC also announced the winners for its Graduate Traineeship Programme, giving fashion BA and MA grads the opportunity to work with a design house showing at London Fashion Week for a year.

“British fashion is recognised globally for its energy and inventiveness which is why we need to support the industry at grass roots,” BFC Fashion Trust co-chairs Tania Fares and Kim Hersov said. “The Fashion Trust will continue to support talented designer labels so that the UK can continue to build the brands of the future.”

All these winners definitely deserve the financial support and we can’t wait to see how each expands their line with this injection of cash.

Only Interview Magazine Could’ve Produced Such ‘Beautiful’ Covers (Forum Buzz)

It’s always refreshing to see underrated and underused cover subjects on the front of our favorite magazines. Interview hears our cries and serves up a trio of Hollywood newcomers for its June/July 2015 issue. Alicia Vikander, Jai Courtney and Domhnall Gleeson each grace the cover of Interview’s latest edition with the words ‘youth wave’ appropriately splashed across the raw, honest and beautiful portrait images captured by Craig McDean.

“Gorgeous covers! I love how consistent Interview is, this is really fantastic. I love all three of the covers and the photos inside look great too. I’ve only heard of Domhnall before but I’m especially enjoying Jai’s photographs,” admired LastNight.

“I like how vulnerable it looks but you can’t deny that there’s a subtle hint of sex there. I like it,” added MON.

Also on board was anlabe32 who hailed, “Fantastic shots. McDean is amazing. Hello Jai and Domhnal!”

Miss Dalloway was quick to share her enthusiasm too, writing, “Raw, honest, beautiful! When W does these kind of covers, they always come across gimmicky to me, but this is wonderful!”

“That’s because Fabien Baron and his team are so ahead of everyone else with the only publication that’s so consistently on point — it’s frightening, replied Pheul in excitement.

Sharing the same attitude was TeeVanity: “Sincerely brilliant of Interview, great covers.”

Forum member BonesAndOil voiced his support too. “I don’t know who any of these people are, however I’d buy this on the gorgeous portraits alone. Stunning,” he raved.

Karlie Kloss, Caroline Trentini and Lexi Boling are Versace’s Fall 2015 Campaign Girls (Forum Buzz)

As the Fall 2015 campaigns continue to roll out, Versace‘s is the latest to be unveiled and with models like Karlie Kloss, Caroline Trentini and Lexi Boling in the fold, we expect rave reviews (because anything and anyone is better than Madonna). The girls come together for Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and pose in primary colors, set amongst a specially constructed set consisting of scaffolding and concrete slabs.

Forum members flocked to the thread but are shockingly underwhelmed by the casting. “A weird combination of models… Lexi doesn’t belong. Should’ve been OG with Gisele or someone who could handle something like this,” littlekiki announced.

“I wish Kate Grigoreva was in the campaign instead of Lexi. She would’ve fit better,” simon suggested soon after but later returned to add, “They didn’t have to look far. Natasha Poly and Kate G. looked the best on the runway wearing this collection. Those two would have been such a great duo for this campaign. Or even Natasha alone.”

In agreement was gossiping. “Ew! and Lexi? She’s NOT a Versace girl, I agree Kate would have been awesome.”

DutchHomme wasn’t impressed either and ranted, “Bland & boring. Those are not Versace girls. I want sexy models for Versace!”

“Wait, why Lexi? She looks so out of place and not Versace at all. Trentini by far is the best cast for the womenswear shots here,” fluxxx approved.

“Funny that neither of the girls has ever worked with Mert & Marcus before. They always found a way to feature their favorites in Versace campaigns. That said, Karlie and Lexi are not Versace girls. However, I’m glad they feature modern day models now. No Kate, Gisele, Daria W, Madonna, etc. It feels a lot more current,” appreciated anlabe32.

Transpeople Across the Internet Ask: ‘Where’s My Vanity Fair Cover?’

Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover has been the talk of the town this week and rightfully so. It’s a big moment for trans visibility in our culture. Although the reactions to her coming out have been mostly positive, it has not gone unnoticed that she is a wealthy white woman who did not have to face many of the struggles of transpeople without the same financial security or familial support system.

Transpeople who aren’t rich or famous or on reality TV are now joining #MyVanityFairCover, a social media movement to give visibility to a community whose voices aren’t heard quite as loudly, who might not have the means or desire to look like Caitlyn Jenner. Crystal Fraiser started the hashtag to highlight the harsh realities many transpeople face in order to give a fuller image of what it is like to live in this world as a transperson. “The world only seems to embrace us if we’re wealthy enough or lucky enough to adhere to white, cisnormative beauty standards,” she wrote. “I’ve felt frustrated and useless and overwhelmed by opinions on transgender women and how we’re ‘supposed’ to look if we want to be taken seriously.”

“Whether we fit those standards or not, we’re beautiful, and we all deserve to feel beautiful, and be acknowledged by the world. Admiration and praise for trans women shouldn’t only come if we fit a narrow definition of beauty. As a good friend of mine said Monday ‘Where’s my Vanity Fair cover?'” The hashtag took off on tumblr and social media sites, with transpeople of all stripes creating their own covers and showing the diverse faces of the trans community. Below, a sampling of the many brave faces and voices who participated.
