Dem Foxes Take on a Stylish Beach Workout in Lorna Jane Designs

DJ duo Dem Foxes rock some pretty amazing bods, so it’s a little reassuring to get photographic proof of the pair exercising down by the beach instead of snacking away of chocolate bars. Somehow Rochelle Fox and Demi Bryant manage to make even working out look good, thanks in no small part to their brightly coloured threads by Aussie activewear label Lorna Jane.

Demi sported the black and white More T-Shirt with purple shorts, while Rochelle wore a love-heart tank tied to the side and Max Run Shorts with a multicolour waistband. To polish it all off, Rochelle pulled her hair into a side plait with the aqua-hued Weekend Visor.

It looks like we were a bit blind to the fact that you can look completely bangin’ mid-workout. So next time you find the energy to go for a beach run, take outfit inspiration from these mega babes. Bright colours and slogan tees are an apparent winner.

Why wouldn’t you want to celebrate the tasty goodness of ice cream? Olivia Palermo can’t think of a reason, stepping out for Magnum’s 25th anniversary at Catalina, Rose Bay last night, September 1. For the high-profile dinner, Olivia opted for a black midi dress by our very own Aussie designer Rachel Gilbert.

The long-sleeve number featured green embellished detail around the waist and wrists, and was teamed with a leather military-style jacket draped over Olivia’s shoulders. The accessories, including Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and a simple clutch, were kept bronze in line with Olivia’s makeup and jacket stud detail.

Hubby Johannes Huebl, who ventured to Australia with Olivia for Chadstone’s Icons of Style launch last week, was no where to be seen at the Magnum event. Other fashionable guests, like Nikki Phillips, Laura Csortan and Danielle Cormack, were there to keep Olivia entertained, though.

Le Labo’s City Exclusive Collection Returns to 6 By GEE Beauty

labo

It used to be that you’d have to travel to the far ends of the earth for a whiff of a city’s authentic essence. But if you don’t have plans to visit the likes of Tokyo or Dubai anytime soon, you can acquire their distinctive scents at Toronto’s 6 By GEE Beauty, which will once again carry Le Labo’s City Exclusive Collection of fragrances.

For the month of September, the New York based fragrance company’s exclusive and exceptional scents will be available to perfume amateurs who are in need of a hit of their favourite cities. Typically, the scents are not available outside their eponymous homes, making this an especially noteworthy exclusive for 6 By GEE Beauty.

The nine scents are San Francisco’s Limette 37, Dubai’s Cuir 28, New York’s Tubereuse 40, Los Angeles’ Musc 25, Paris’ Vanille 44, Tokyo’s Gaiac 10, London’s Poivre 23, Chicago’s Baie Rose 26 and Le Labo’s latest, Moscow Benjoin 19. Each fragrance is crafted by hand and made fresh upon order.

The Le Labo City Exclusive Collection will be available from September 1 through September 30 at 6 By GEE Beauty, 6 Roxborough Street West in Toronto.

20 Summer-to-Fall Transition Dresses

When the urge to shop hits in early September, it’s not easy. The weather is still kinda hot (it is still summer, after all), but fall is fast approaching. How to reconcile? Go transitional! Focus on pieces that you can wear comfortably now, yet layer with ease later. There’s nothing wrong with stocking up on short-sleeve (or even sleeveless) dresses now, if you know you can easily pop a blazer or cardigan over them in a few months. Lightweight frocks with sleeves can also ease the transition from summer to fall — and will still make total sense come October. If right now frock-shopping is an itch you simply must scratch, all the great pieces ahead are right up your alley.

We Predict: Fashion Week’s Most Coveted Street Style Pieces

Every fashion month, we love seeing what’s coming down the runway. But we might even like the street style scene a little bit more, since it puts a real-world spin on all those designer goods. Plus, seeing how folks style different trends is always so thrilling. Even better than seeing those images? Trying to guess which designer pieces will make the major rounds on all the fashion editors and stylists lucky enough to attend the events. It’s not hard — take any standout novelty sweatshirt or designer comeback, and you’re pretty much set. This time around, we’ve got our money on tons of Moschino and Marc by Marc Jacobs — two of the shows that were hubbub-heavy last winter. We’ve also selected some other high-end pieces that we figure will get some play outside the shows. Check out our predictions before placing your bets in the comments below!

Kim Kardashian is Coming to Australia

Stop everything you’re doing, because Kim Kardashian is coming to Australia. The curvy reality-star-turned-designer is coming to Sydney’s Westfield in Parramatta this September 13 to celebrate the Spring 2014 launch of Kardashian Kollection.

Kim will be making the long flight down under to meet and greet her fans, but to get up close to the one and only you’ll have to make a Kardashian Kollection purchase between August 26 and September 13. You’ll also get a signed photo to hang up on your wall, but only if you’re one of the first 200 devotees in line.

Take that as a warning to be there well before she arrives at 2.30pm. And please, for the love of god, don’t forget your receipt. We’d hate for you to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
