Allure delighted us with a May 2015 cover featuring Blake Lively looking nonchalant and perfectly undone. The glossy takes four giant steps backwards, however, with an overly-Photoshopped Elizabeth Banks on its June cover. Unfortunately, The Hunger Games actress ends up resembling a wax figure due to either horrific makeup, bad lighting or a huge amount of unnecessary airbrushing. Posing for photographer Norman Jean Roy with makeup by Diane Kendal and hair by Serge Normant, Elizabeth thankfully appears more like herself in the accompanying cover story.

Our forum members aren’t a happy bunch. “Is this a wax figure? Their covers look the same month after month. Shame that a beauty magazine that calls itself an expert promotes only one look,” discredited MON.
“Those cover lines are practically in 3D!” added A.D.C. suggesting the magazine needed a revamp in terms of cover design.
Also unwilling to show enthusiasm toward the cover was Benn98. “Awful cover. Nothing about this screams 2015. Elizabeth is a refreshing choice though. I just mentioned the other day how underused she is on magazine covers,” he posted.
