15 Totally Un-Basic Things to Wear to Work This Fall

Even when you like your job (and we sincerely hope you do!), there are days that can be a total drag. Unfortunately, no matter how annoying work gets, you still have to dress for it. Don’t give into the evil forces that turn nighttime/weekend fashionistas into boringly dressed cubicle clones. Drop the sensible cardigans and toss aside that pre-shrunken blazer! You really can show off your love of fashion while still on the clock. Fashion looks can quickly veer into office-inappropriate territory, but we’re here to make sure that you can combine your need for a regular paycheck and your love of modern, fashionable clothing — because it can definitely be done.

Pink LouLou to Launch ‘Australian Summer’ Collection

Pink LouLou Australian Summer Stephanie Cherry

Photo: Pierre Toussaint/Pink LouLou

Jewellery label Pink LouLou has just released its newest campaign dubbed Australian Summer, tapping the gorgeous Stephanie Cherry to model its latest fine jewellery offering. In a simplistic shoot, Stephanie wears either buttoned-down white and pale blue blouses or an Australian flag draped over a bare chest with undone denim bottoms.

We never thought we’d see the day where an Aussie flag didn’t look tacky while used as a fashion accessory. But the naturalness of Stephanie’s hair and makeup plus the minimal clothing allows Pink LouLou’s collection to shine, while still representing the Australian direction of the range. Stylist Nadene Duncan also did a great job putting the intricate gold and silver necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings together, showing how the pieces can work both layered and on their own.

The designer of the line, Skye Campbell, drew inspiration from our amazingly long Aussie summer with tropical fruits and seashells making appearances throughout the delicate selection. If you could take the feeling of sand sinking in-between your toes on a hot summer day and turn it into jewellery, Pink LouLou’s Australian Summer collection would be the result.

The covetable collection will drop in-store at Pink LouLou this October, just in time for summer.

Robyn Lawley Tries to Give Us a Sneak Peek of Her New Swimwear Collection

Getting us in the mood for warmer days ahead, Robyn Lawley has given us all a little sneak peek of what’s to come from her self-titled swimwear collection, Robyn Lawley Swimwear. The “plus-size” model has posted several pictures to her Instagram, showcasing the upcoming designs straight from the shoot in Vermont.

We can expect double-strap balconette bras with matching contrast bottoms as well as plunging one-pieces with strategic line work around the hip area. We want to say they’ll be black and white, but going off the poor-quality, filtered images, it looks like the white could actually be a neon yellow. Perhaps it’s just the Amaro filter at work — we’re not too sure.

The next on-location shot, including models Marquita Pring, Leah Kelley and Kortnie Coles, is also blurry, but we can see a landscape print one-piece swimsuit and a flowy, printed kimono amongst the photographic chaos. Another image follows, showcasing sexy black cut-out one-pieces.

Wrapping the sneak peek up is a selection of lip print swimsuits. Two models strike sexy poses in the pool, while the other awkwardly looks on. Hopefully, when the final images are released, the pixel and DPI count is much higher than these social media snaps.

Runway-Inspired Ways to Wear the Front Crisscross

Forget the cross-over back. Both big-name designers and retailers are exploring the front crisscross with the X-neck quickly becoming a widespread trend. It’s not just limited to tight-fitting crops, with the style now making its way onto jumpsuits, dresses, tanks and even swimwear. It’s sexy, feminine and can work to either cover up or reveal some skin.

Opt for the style either loose or fitted and with or without prints or strategic stripes. Incorporate it into your wardrobe in either a subtle or in-your-face way, looking to the below runway and retail picks for inspiration.

Runway to Real Life: Spring 2015 in Action

It’s true — models look good in just about everything. Their outlandishly long legs and slender frames make new season clothes look amazing, but sometimes it’s hard to imagine pieces off the runway.

Now that Spring 2015 has started to drop in stores, we thought there was no better time to show how runway can translate to real life. Take a cue from fashion bloggers, musicians, actresses, TV personalities and more to see how you too can wear these new season pieces.

Vogue Turkey’s September Cover Is ‘Fun and It Jumps Out at You’ (Forum Buzz)

She’s becoming a firm favorite among fashion industry insiders, scoring the January 2014 cover of Vogue Netherlands, appearing inside Vogue Australia and now Crista Cober scores the September cover of Vogue Turkey. Photographed by Cuneyt Akeroglu and styled by Konca Aykan , the Canadian beauty wears a transparent plastic Miu Miu coat with the collar standing up, covering the bottom half of her face. Crista’s minimal makeup and tight curls, which are styled over to one side of her face, help make for an eye-catching cover.

Our forum members have mixed reactions, though. “Not familiar with the model, I thought it was Julia Frauche at first. I think I like it. The use of that transparent coat is a little off but it somehow works, it also helps that she has really pretty eyes,” commented Cotton.

“It would have been better with a top model. It’s not bad but she’s not selling it,” wrote GivenchyHomme.

MON just wasn’t feeling it: “Wow that cover is a mess. The layout is beyond terrible. Fonts galore. And the hashtag.. please.”

“I like [the] color palette, nothing more,” declared narcyza.

“I love it, it’s fun and it jumps out at you,” enthused TREVOFASHIONISTO, who changed the mood of the thread.

Tinsley V shared his positive attitude: “This is really cool! I loved the first cover so much more though, better colors and had much more impact with the minimal font. I love the use of the hashtag too … crazy how one programmer from Twitter introduced it on his site and now it’s universal to the point of it appearing on Turkish Vogue. Perfect for a pop culture cover imo.”

What do you think of the cover? Are you a fan? Share your own opinion inside the thread here.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Steps Out in an All-Black Ensemble by Lover

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Lover ModelCo

Photo: KHAP/Getty

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has really shown her love for Australian label Lover while she was in Sydney this week. She sported a silk and lace Lover dress for ModelCo’s natural skincare launch and has also been snapped in this all-black ensemble from the brand’s Spring 2014 collection.

The business-chic attire Rosie was snapped in included Lover’s black wrap jacket and leather trousers from its latest collection. We love that the Victoria’s Secret model was able to incorporate leather into the outfit without looking too sexy, which is no easy feat with a bod like hers.

She teamed the look with black pointed-toe pumps, her favourite Chloe bag and pulled-back hair. We’re so happy that Rosie supported Lover while in Sydney. Here’s hoping she continues to rock the Aussie brand abroad.

When you think of Paris, dream-like visions of elegance and romance pop to mind. And no one knows this better than Lancôme. In the spirit of celebrating the holiday season, the beauty giant has created three limited-edition To Paris with Lancôme holiday gift sets featuring exclusive packaging designed by one of Sephora’s talented artists.

In the spirit of artistic collaboration, Lancôme invited members of Sephora’s staff across Canada to submit a packaging design drawing from the theme “Parisian Lights” for inspiration and using only Lancôme makeup products. From the numerous submissions, eight finalists were selected by Lancôme, Sephora and guest judge Jessica Desjardins of the blog Beautezine. The public was then invited to select the winner by voting through a special Facebook app.

After 10 days of voting, Alyssa Steinhubl from the Kingsway Mall Sephora in Edmonton was declared the winner. Her charming illustration depicting an elegant woman in a ball gown looking upon a Parisian landscape complete with stars and the Eiffel Tower will be featured on the limited-edition To Paris with Lancôme holiday sets exclusive to Sephora stores nationwide. The cherry on top — she has also won a trip to Paris.

Vanessa Hudgens Sports Byron Bay-Based Label Spell Designs at FYF Fest

Ultimate boho-babe Vanessa Hudgens has been spotted wearing Spell Designs yet again, this time rocking the Byron Bay-based label for FYF Fest. The self-confessed music-lover posted a few snaps to her Tumblr showing off a very vintage-esque lace ensemble.

Vanessa sports Spell Design’s popular Fleetwood Bells lace pants teamed with the matching blouse (worn as an over shirt). She accompanied the look with a white halter crop underneath, sprucing up the outfit with layered blue and bronze necklaces, plus a cream wide-brim hat for the perfect festival style.

The actress is definitely having a bit of a love affair with the gypsy brand, having rocked the Desert Wanderer Playsuit at Coachella earlier this year. Vanessa, who has been titled “The Queen of Coachella” by a couple of media outlets, also sported Aussie label Camilla at the 2014 festivities.

Jessica Hart Sparkles as Cosmopolitan Australia’s October Cover Girl

Aussie beauty Jessica Hart has been tapped as Cosmopolitan Australia’s cover girl for October, wearing a show-stopping jumpsuit from Perth-based label Zhivago . With the girlie-pink background and pops of yellow, white and black fonts, it’s a glossy you can’t miss on newsstands.

Jessica looks her normal babin’ self for the cover, with side-swept waves and a gap-toothed grin from ear-to-ear. With the sparkly emerald green and black one-piece doing all the talking, the Victoria’s Secret model only needed to sport a few delicate gold rings as accessories.

Zhivago designers Lydia Tsvetnenko and Lara Kovacevich must be pretty stoked to see Jessica sporting this piece, adding to their ever-growing list of celebrities who have worn their designs. Even the Highborn Jumpsuit Jessica rocks for the cover has been spotted before, on pop star Samantha Jade for the 2013 ARIAs.

Check out the issue for yourself when it goes on sale this Monday, September 1.

Want a Free Ride to Topshop? Uber Will Give You One

Sydney’s Topshop store is smack-bang in the middle of the CBD, so there’s plenty of crowd-related excuses not to visit the four-level retail heaven. With train or bus fares, congested traffic or the endless struggle to find a car park, sometimes we need a little encouragement to get us through the city and inside the wondrous store.

Wipe away the first-world-problem tears, because Topshop has sent an angel in the form of premium taxi service app Uber. This weekend, from August 29 through 31, Uber is offering free rides to Topshop Sydney in a world-first partnership. All you need is the Uber app and the promo code ‘TOPSHOPMINI’ and your car service will be free of charge.

Still not sold? You’ll also receive a VIP personal styling session and a $50 gift card to spend inside the magical world of Topshop just by using the Uber app and promo code. You’ve got four levels, two genders and thousands of styles to choose from.

Of course, there has to be some sort of social media marketing ploy to go along with the whole affair, so make sure you use the hashtag #TOPSHOPMINI on your socials to go in the draw for a $500 gift voucher as well.

I know what you’re thinking and, yes, there’s a catch. The rides will only run during regular store trading hours, so forget any plans to hitch a ride with Top Shop to Kings Cross on Saturday night. We’re guessing there’s a kilometre limit to and from the store as well, but that’s yet to be determined.

Heroine Chic: Top Off Your Fall Outfits with Crusader-Worthy Capes

This season, super style starts with crusader-worthy capes perfectly suited for combating fall’s chill. Particularly useful for layering your look without bulk, yet powerful enough to do double-duty and keep you warm, this of-the-moment outerwear is all about easy and effortless dressing. From short and sweet to sweeping and mysterious, capes and cloaks have a strong association with a range of fictional figures designers couldn’t help but channel — think Little Red Riding Hood at Saint Laurent. Whether worn hooded and fastened around the neck at Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana complete with fur trim, regally draped over shoulders at Tadashi Shoji and Delpozo or cocooned and blanket-like at The Row and Tod’s, the cape is a firm fall favorite.

Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Dan Single Launch Rosé Wine in New York Loft

What happens when a designer, a model and a winery join forces? Well, a rosé wine is born, of course. Ksubi founder Dan Single and his wife, model Bambi Northwood-Blyth, have collaborated with Bird in Hand to launch D&B Rosé Pour Les Amour in New York.

Together, Vogue and Bird in Hand hosted a dinner at Dan and Bambi’s Chelsea loft with catering by the Lower East Side’s The Fat Radish. Andre Saraiva, who is responsible for the artwork of the new rosé bottle, graffitied the walls of the apartment (when he wasn’t grabbing Bambi’s backside for Instagram) for a very arty and fashionable feel for the night.

Only the best of the best from the fashion scene were there, with Bambi’s new BFF and Victoria’s Secret model, Erin Heatherton, in attendance, along with Phoebe Tonkin and Christine Centenera. Such a stylish bunch called for some great Aussie designers worn on their backs, with Bambi kicking off the night in a sheer Josh Goot grid number and Erin sporting a white lace ensemble from Lover‘s Spring 2014 collection.

Andrew Nugent, founder and director of Bird in Hand, told Vogue Australia, “We knew this was the right fit for Bird in Hand from the start. Dan and Bambi are ambitious, passionate about food, wine and travel and are the perfect brand ambassadors.”

WANT Apothecary Opens First Location in Vancouver

WANT1

WANT — the mere word makes you, well, want more. West Coasters will no longer have to pine for WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie ’s exclusively curated brands, as the high-end lifestyle company has expanded its apothecary retail concept to Vancouver’s South Granville neighbourhood. This is its third location, following Montreal and Toronto.

Founded by brothers Byron and Dexter Peart, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie is an upscale lifestyle brand characterized by exquisitely crafted leather goods designed by the brothers, rounded out with a fine-tuned selection of fashion, beauty and home decor items carried in select apothecary stores. The one element that the new Vancouver outpost has over the others is an integrated washbasin on the sales floor where customers are invited to learn more about the products by experiencing them firsthand in a tactile and interactive way.

WANT Apothecary carries cult-favorite beauty brands like Aesop, Ursa Major, Stop The Water While Using Me! and Astier de Villatte as well as conceptual fashion labels Acne Studios, Filippa K and Maison Kitsuné. Save or Splurge: Your Fall Shopping Strategy

When planning your fall wardrobe (which we’re sure you’re already knee-deep in the process of doing), you must sift through the designer goods and the best of high street. Since so many trends, silhouettes and pieces tend to overlap, how do you decide just what is worth your hard-earned cash and what is best relegated to the bargain websites? It’s great to spend on things that you love from your favorite designers, but be smart — not every piece will have lasting appeal just because you dropped a fat wad of cash for it. Leave timely trends to Topshop and ASOS, so that you can have your fashion fun without totally breaking the bank. Click through to see how we’re shopping (and spending) this fall.

Kylie Jenner Sports MINKPINK and Finders Keepers for Girlfriend’s September Issue

After spotting Kylie Jenner in Sass & Bide at the Much Music Video Awards and the Teen Choice Awards earlier this year, we had all faith that this Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet was developing a lot of love for Aussie labels. And rightly so, because we have so many designers that would be right up her fresh and alternative alley.

Mink Pink Kylie Jenner

For the September issue of teen magazine Girlfriend, Kylie graces the front cover in a tangerine and light blue floral dress by MINKPINK , cleverly coordinated to her dramatic, blue-dipped hair along with the orange artwork of the glossy. She looks cute-yet-edgy (which is basically the label’s trademark) with gold bangles, a statement jeweled necklace and pink lips.

But that’s not the only Aussie-designer love that Kylie gives for September. She also rocks a sports-luxe, Finders Keepers T-Shirt dress the further you look inside the issue. If you want to check out the magazine for yourself, it’s on newsstands now.

Did Cheyenne Tozzi Just Do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Without Ice?

Cheyenne Tozzi ALS Ice Bucket

Photo: Instagram

Cheyenne Tozzi has joined in on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge fun after being nominated by Sir Philip Green‘s daughter, Chloe Jade Green. One thing was definitely missing, though, and that was the ice. We’re just going off the thousands of people who have taken on the challenge before her, but we’re pretty sure the ice is what actually makes the task all the more challenging and mildly entertaining.

Cheyenne nominated her fellow Australia’s Next Top Model team, including Jennifer Hawkins, Didier Cohen and Alex Perry, but one judge wasn’t too impressed with her efforts. “I SEE NO ICE….. THERE MUST BE ICE!!!!!!!” Alex commented on the post. Cheyenne didn’t really defend herself in response, instead just telling Alex to “do it.” Alex reiterated Cheyenne’s forgoing of the ice, by replying, “OH I WILL…. WITH ICE!!!!!”

At this point, Jennifer, Didier and Alex haven’t taken on the challenge. If their attempts go anything like Cheyenne’s, the videos will consist of awkward cowering, hysterical laughing and a little bit of swearing. Watch the video below for yourself, and let us know your opinion on doing this challenge without the ice. The water tipped over Cheyenne could’ve been warm, and we’ll never know.

Gisele Bündchen is ELLE Australia’s September Cover Girl

ELLE Australia has tapped Gisele Bündchen as its September cover girl in perfect timing, following the news that the Brazilian babe is the highest-paid model for 2014. Even the blurb next to Gisele plays on her recently-public salary, saying, “The secrets behind the body that earns $135K a day.”

Taking just one glance at the cover, it’s not hard to see why Gisele makes more coin in a day than we could hope of making in an entire year. The eyes, those cheekbones and, of course, that body are serious money-making assets.

The side-on pose she strikes for the cover also exaggerates her impeccable features, with Gisele pulling up the T-shirt to reveal her always-tanned stomach, plus showing off her facial structure and beachy locks.

The front cover easily gets us in the mood for spring, too, with Gisele donning a floral top with contrast sleeves and matching bottoms. The September issue hits newsstands today.

Running, biking, skateboarding, rollerblading — all of these activities are dangerous when done on busy city streets by day, but all the more so come nightfall. Jessica Hart Stars in Steamy Shoot with GQ

Jessica Hart GQ

Photo: Dusan Reljin/ GQ

Jessica Hart flashed much more than her gap-toothed grin for GQ in a steamy photoshoot and video wearing little more than her underwear. The Aussie supermodel dons a nipple-revealing sheer bra by Cosabella, a Michael Kors tank and a Burberry Brit bikini throughout her shoot with the men’s mag, plus some Manolo Blahnik heels and Tiffany & Co. jewellery for good measure.

In a little video called How to Date Jessica Hart , the blond babe shares with GQ what she likes in a man. “Be well-mannered and be sure of yourself, but not over-confident and don’t be too into yourself,” she said.

The predictable tips are hardly of any use for young chaps hoping to date the Victoria’s Secret model, though. She’s been off the market for years thanks to a man with a name that instantly makes you feel inferior, Stavros Niarchos III. You can see more of Jessica’s shoot with GQ here.

Alex Perry Surprisingly Fits Courtney Love Amid Her Australian Tour

Alex Perry creates glamorous, elegant and sparkly pieces, right? So, we can’t imagine what he’d be able to whip up for the likes of Courtney Love. But the 50-year-old rocker and the Aussie designer have met up for a fitting amid her Australian tour, so we’re thinking she could be rocking some Alex Perry for her remaining concerts in Newcastle, Canberra and Sydney.

Alex posted a snap of himself and Courtney with their distinctive cheekbones thrust up against each other, complete with matching duck faces. At least we think that’s the look they were going for, but it’s always hard to tell with Courtney’s pout. The caption read, “@courtneylove I THINK IM IN LOVE!!!! BEST FITTING EVER!!!! #courtneylove #alexperry.”

Courtney followed suit with a much blurrier photo of the pair and a caption reading, “Aussies only ( and fabulous !) couturier! @alexperry #alexperry.” We knew that Alex was going for a younger, edgier look for his latest collections, but the news of him dressing Courtney has got our heads in a spin. It’s the last label we’d pick for her rough and grungy style. Let’s just hope no one throws a beer on her while sporting one of Alex’s designs because that would be a crying shame.

Ruby Rose Won’t Be Wearing a Dress at Her Upcoming September Wedding

We all know by now that Ruby Rose and Phoebe Dahl are getting married. The pair publicly share their affections for one another, whether it’s making out onstage at this year’s Gay Pride Festival or posting pics of Phoebe’s engagement ring to Instagram, so we’re pretty clued in that these two are loved up and on their way to the altar.

We were even given a rough date this week, with Ruby writing to her Instagram, “And in September they shall be married.. despite all odds.. despite and because of,” with a photo of Phoebe lying next to her.

What we don’t know, however, is how the whole thing is going to go down. Where will they get married? Who will the guests be? And most importantly, what will the brides wear? Well, we can tell you what Ruby won’t be wearing, and that’s a wedding dress.

Ruby’s just posted a photo of herself in a white, strapless dress alongside Phoebe in a neon, off-the-shoulder number to her Instagram. But the photo wasn’t important because the pair just have their hands all over each other like every other social media post of theirs. The caption, on the other hand, was quite informative.

“That one time we did a shoot and it become 100 percent real that I would never wear a dress at my wedding hahaha,” Ruby wrote. We know the traditional wedding gown went out the window once Olivia Palermo rocked shorts and a sweater on her big day, and now we can’t help but wonder what Ruby will come up with.

We’ve probably been too busy brainstorming what Phoebe, who owns her own ethical clothing line called Faircloth & Supply , is going to whip up. Will Ruby play groom to Phoebe’s bride? All we can do is wait for the next clue to be given away. Knowing how adamant the two are about sharing details of their love life, something tells us we’ll get more crucial wedding info soon.

Shop the 90s Vibe and Daisy Prints from Her Pony’s Spring 2014 Collection

Her Pony Spring 2014

Photo: Her Pony

Melbourne-based label Her Pony has just released its Spring 2014 collection, boasting 90s-style, girlie-grunge cuts and exclusive daisy prints. It’s heaven for lovers of the matchy-matchy trend and all the proud midriff-barers out there.

Her Pony Spring 2014

Photo: Her Pony

It makes sense that the range has a 90s vibe because the label came about after years of its designer and founder, Lauren Stein, reworking pre-loved items to meet the demand of Melbourne’s vintage community. In fact, a huge amount of Her Pony’s success came from the pieces being sold through online store Vintage Marketplace.

But now Her Pony has a stand-alone online store, which doesn’t rely as heavily on its stockists. If you take one look at the Spring 2014 collection, you’ll see why this label is doing so well. With the soft colour palette, front tie-up detailing and feminine white lace, we can hardly wait for the flowers of spring to be in full bloom.

Her Pony Spring 2014

Photo: Her Pony

The best and worst part about this collection, however, is that the pieces are all limited editions. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it type deal, but at least you can walk the streets knowing you won’t bump into someone with the same outfit. We suggest you jump over to Her Pony’s online store now to secure your favourite piece.

Oracle Fox’s Amanda Shadforth Nominated for Bloglovin Awards in New York City

Queensland’s Amanda Shadforth, from the ridiculously popular fashion blog Oracle Fox, has been nominated for this year’s Bloglovin Awards. We’re ecstatic about it because no distinct aesthetic of minimal, clean and monochromatic visuals should go unrecognised.

And even though Aussie fashion bloggers are all the rage right now with their own fashion-doco show airing this October, Amanda is the only nominee in the Best Personal Style Blog category from down under. “It is a huge honour to represent Australia in this category and I am so humbled to be nominated, all of the nominees are extremely talented,” Amanda said in a news release.

If you’re wondering who might be in attendance for the most coveted awards in the digital fashion realm and blog community, there’s also nominees likes Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Palermo and The Sartorialist. Just like the Logies or Grammys, it’s a really big privilege to be nominated. We reckon Amanda’s probably whipping up a thank you speech just in case.

We’ll find out the winners when they are announced in New York City on September 7. You can vote for Amanda over on the Bloglovin site to help her join other previous winners like Leandra Medine of Man Repeller, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad and Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast.

Why Miranda Kerr Was Ranked One of the Highest-Paid Supermodels for 2014

The stats are in and Miranda Kerr has been crowned as one of Forbes ‘ highest-paid supermodels for 2014, with a whopping $7 million to her name over the last 12 months. Not surprisingly, Gisele Bündchen took the major prize, but Miranda still managed to make more coin than the likes of Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio. Looks like you don’t need those Victoria’s Secret wings to help you fly.

So, what has our dimple-faced, doe-eyed sweetheart been up to over the last 12 months to overtake these other big-name, super-trendy models? Other than causing fist fights in Ibiza between the barely-legal Biebs and baby-daddy Orlando Bloom, Miranda has been one busy woman.

We’re talking magazine covers, advertising campaigns and more. We see her face so darn often that it’s easy to forget what she’s been working on. Scroll through some Miranda moments from the last 12 months below. If anything, it’s an absolute joyride seeing how she swaps from good girl to bad girl so often.

Miranda Kerr 7 for all mankind

Miranda got up close and personal with Spanish actor and model Jon Kortajarena for the 7 For All Mankind Fall 2014 campaign dubbed #7Obsessions, with the steamy images released earlier this month.

Miranda has been gallivanting around for Escada, after being named the face of its new Joyful fragrance in March. It’s been all sunshine, rainbows and pretty floral ensembles for this particular job.

Her girl-next-door image was completely ditched in her shoot with Net-a-Porter, straddling motorbikes and rocking plunging necklines for the online retailer’s The EDIT magazine.

Miranda caused a stir for all the right reasons when she graced the cover of Vogue Australia’s July issue. One of our forum members, fluxxx, commented, “I kinda like it, it’s nice to see her not in the oversexualized styling.” Miranda was also picked as the cover girl for this year’s May issue of Vogue Taiwan and ELLE Spain, plus the June issue of U.K. Harper’s Bazaar , just to name a few.

We’re not going to lie, the model had us a little confused when she decided to design a tea set range for Royal Albert. Nonetheless, it’s been one of Miranda’s biggest projects as of late that doesn’t completely rely on her face or body.

miranda-kerr-landscape

It’s without doubt that Miranda’s contract as Swarovski‘s global ambassador brings in some big bucks. She models in its campaigns, features in the commercials and attends all of its glamorous events.

It was a little predictable when Miranda was named the face of H&M back in February, but also fitting in the lead-up to the Swedish retail giant’s first Australian store. Either way, it’s a huge brand to add to an ever-growing portfolio.

Jaime Lee Major’s Custom-Designed Outfits for Kimbra’s ‘Miracle’ Video Will Blow Your Mind

Kimbra Miracle

Photo: Youtube

The second single from Kimbra’s critically acclaimed The Golden Echo album is here, and, as expected from the quirky GRAMMY Award-winning musician, the costumes for the Miracle music video are freakin’ amazing.

Kimbra Miracle

Photo: Shayan Asgharnia

The clever designer is Jaime Lee Major, who has collaborated with Kimbra in the past. The smiley singer kicks off the video in a sheer, beaded bodysuit teamed with tiny red hot pants (later swapped for a 3D-floral skirt), chunky lace-up platform boots and an adorable fluffy red backpack. She later changes into a truly phenomenal long-sleeve flippy dress with super-funky matching shoes for the finale.

It was no easy job, though, taking Jaime Lee over four weeks to hand bead the final outfit, which has over 200 metres of hand-cut, silk Georgette flowers sewn through the hem. It was well worth the wait, but funnily enough the piece was meant for Kimbra to wear at the 2013 Grammy Awards ceremony.

Kimbra Miracle

Photo: Shayan Asgharnia

“It’s great to be working with Kimbra again, we share such a common creative vision, it’s very kindred,” Jaime Lee said in a news release. “It was really special with our history to be able to create something extraordinary for this video.”

Kimbra Miracle

Photo: Youtube

Jaime Lee flew out to New York for the fun-filled shoot, with director Thom Kerr saying, “I wanted the audience to really see Kimbra in this clip, and watch a performance that showcases not only how beautiful she is, but her eccentricity as a live performer.” He added, “Jaime Lee was the perfect fit as her vision is parallel to those magical ideals – her clothes are truly something special.”

If you want to watch the entire video (trust us, it’s all kinds of fun) you can do so here.

Sarah Murdoch Rocks Business-Chic at the 2014 Helpmann Awards

Sarah Murdoch Helpmann

Photo: Mark Metcalfe/ Getty

Sarah Murdoch looked like she was on her way to a chic business meeting when stepping onto the red carpet for the 2014 Helpmann Awards in Sydney. We totally dug the look, though, with the model making some clever choices in both the wardrobe and beauty department.

The 42-year-old veered away from an all-black outfit by incorporating a brown collar and pussy bow style scarf, which were complemented by her bronzed eye makeup. The shapely midi skirt feminised her workwear attire, while the sheer fabric of the blouse added a little sex appeal.

We admire Sarah’s ability to work black and brown, while nailing sexy, pretty and on-duty all in one outfit. If this really was a business meeting, Sarah would definitely be getting the job.

The Career Girl’s Checklist: Take-to-Work Beauty

Ah, the cubicle farm — mostly a necessary evil of professional ladder-climbing, but overall kind of a drag. A way to keep it fresh? Keep a little supply of beauty products at your fingertips. Think of items that will keep you feeling comfortable (hair goods, deodorant) and looking good (multi-use color). There’s a way to use beauty products in the office without venturing into unprofessional territory (i.e., don’t paint your nails at work unless you work at Essie). Whether you need a midday freshen-up, need to look put-together again after a workout or commute or you want to prep for your night out before leaving company property, this crop of products will make office work just a little prettier.

Kristen Stewart and Juliette Binoche Look Sensual on Interview Germany’s September Cover (Forum Buzz)

Kristen Stewart may still be massively popular all over the world, but she’s usually not our forum members’ favorite cover star. For the German edition of Interview, Kristen was photographed together with her Clouds of Sils Maria co-star, Juliette Binoche. In the movie, the two actresses are in a relationship. Therefore, it is no surprise the magazine opted to go for a similar concept for the cover shot of its September issue.

Image credit: Whosdatedwho.com via the tfs forums

Reactions on our forums were mostly positive. One of the first to comment on the cover was catherine88. “Oh man! I like that cover with Kristen and Juliette. It’s kind of sexy,” she noted.

LastNight applauded the decision to have Kristen pose with her eyes closed. “I have always thought Kristen Stewart to be a very beautiful woman, however in almost every photoshoot she looks dead in the eyes. I think they’ve found a solution here and I say from now on she has her eyes down/closed in all future shoots because it’s really working for her. In all sincerity though, it is a beautiful cover and I really enjoy the other two as well,” he wrote.

“Juliette & Kristen’s cover does look good, but I prefer Sam Rollinson‘s. I mean, look at [those] shoulders!” remarked Benn98, referring to one of the two alternative model covers (check out the previews here).

It looks like the magazine is presenting a solid effort for its September issue. The cover with Kristen and Juliette is simple, but also sensual and interesting. The model covers with Sam and Lindsey Wixson are dynamic and striking. If the covers are that great, the content is sure to be exciting, too. Not bad, Interview Germany!

Lindsey Wixson’s Vogue Russia Cover Gets Compared to Harry Styles (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Russia tapped Lindsey Wixson to front its big September issue. She was photographed sporting a short, cropped, dark wig (which doesn’t do her any favors) by Alexi Lubomirski. Of course, Lindsey wears an outfit from Louis Vuitton‘s fall collection, which Vogues worldwide have taken a shine to. The cover marks the American beauty’s sixth for the Condé Nast title. Lindsey previously appeared on the cover of Vogue Japan’s August 2014 issue.

It seems as though the September covers are not satisfying our forum members and Vogue Russia is no exception. “Oh stop!!!! This is getting hilarious! Where have all the Great Sept covers gone?!!?!???!!” exclaimed Miss Dalloway.

“Is this Harry Styles from One Direction? I think the title of this thread is very wrong…” commented miguelalmeida.

Another member not feeling the wig on Lindsey was gazebo, who posted, “People, bad hair is obviously IN VOGUE. Get used to it for at least a couple of months.”

“This is awful. I like the color palette, and I’m a fan of Lindsey, but this is pitiful. The hair and the styling are atrocious. Yikes,” wrote an unhappy MyNameIs.

Russian Vogue‘s take is the weakest cover of the lot, according to justaguy: “Oh man, another really bad Vogue September cover!! I think this is the worst.”

Lindsey also graces a 15-page fashion story inside the issue, which our forum members actually admire. “The edit is amazing though! The concept’s been done to death by US Vogue, but seems fresh with Lindsey & VR,” approved Benn98.

“Beautiful edit, I almost forget the wig. Good use of the settings. The photo with the men in uniforms is great, well done,” enthused Tony Fersen.

See inside the thread for the cover story as well as a preview of the issue. Don’t forget to post your own comment, too.
