Belstaff Celebrates the Modern City Girl for Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Scene: A tough brick background nicely set the scene.

The Look: Traditional Brit mixed with modern, hardened city girl. Quilting and shearling, utilitarian khaki jackets with cargo pockets and leather acted not only as street-smart jacket material, but also appeared on long sleeve tops and kilts. This is a perfect case of realistic fashion made cool and you can definitely see both the practical use of a wooly-lapeled jacket along with its elevated style. It's also a dark collection, save for a few instances of hunter orange or deep olive. For blending in on the outside, reveling in your uniqueness on the inside.

The Accessories: Gloves that extended well beyond the wrist and traveled nearly to the elbow, so there was no mistaking the practicality of these for some sort of important task (even if that's just looking tough while walking the streets of London). Black boots on the feet and big, stuff-carrying bags for the hands and shoulders.

The Beauty: Hair was side-parted and looking like the models came fresh in from the winter cold; the faces were mostly naked.

The Takeaway: Belstaff will prepare you for any activity in any weather — and make damn sure you look stylish all the while.
