Gucci will always be sexy, even if they go in a sportswear direction, and that was exactly the case in this season's lineup. Frida Giannini told The Daily Beast that she was focused on creating “new proportions and detailing to turn gymnastic shapes into style essentials.” Obviously she did not have grey cotton sweatpants and sweatshirts in mind.

The designer's inspiration translated into loose silhouettes, drop waists, sheer triangle bra tops (they came layered under everything from tops to gowns), mesh tops and baggy trousers, all of which were done in a dark palette. Many of the looks came highly embellished and fashioned out of high-shine fabrics, making them fit for black tie and red carpet affairs. On the handbag front, most of the styles came finished with long fringe, which served to add even more movement to the season's drapey looks.
