Alberta Ferretti Spring 2014: Plenty of Florals for Spring

Flowers embellished nearly every look in Alberta Ferretti's Mexican-tinged Spring 2014 collection. Contrary to what florals might conjure up, however, the collection wasn't run-of-the-mill.

Covering the color gamut, the most striking looks were the white ones that opened and closed the show. Beautifully embroidered with colorful flowers, dresses came in a range of silhouettes included a loose T-shirt style, a strapless column, flirty minis and a long-sleeve gown, all of which were wearable while striking a fashion-forward balance (think embroidered flowers that gave the illusion of suspenders). Sandwiched between the white pieces, the designer showed black and rich jewel toned looks.

Not into florals? The pieces that weren't embroidered, printed or finished with floral lace, came colorfully striped in both horizontal and vertical colorblocked iterations.
